Very nice and helpful host, we were welcomed with a beautiful breakfast, which sadly we didn't take, since we were in a hurry to see Tallinn. Room is squeaky clean, completely furnished. The bathroom was very clean and had a washing machine, which was the icing on the cake. Strongly recommend to stay at Peeter's place
Peeter is a most polite, helpful and friendly host, and it was a pleasure to meet him - my only regret is that we didn't get more time to talk as I was in Tallinn for a (work) conference. The apartment is perfectly situated next to the picturesque Old Town, the room is indeed very large and comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Communication with Peeter is quick and easy, use of kitchen really handy, and staying here made my whole trip just so much more relaxed and enjoyable. MAny thanks Peeter - hope your dance session was fun?!
Peter was delightful host. First morning he offered us breakfast and had made homemade yogurt and humus for toast. He had heard that I like humus. He is an intelligent and well spoken man. Very interesting to converse with. The room was large and spacious. His apartment was right downtown but within walking distance of the ferry. Peter went out of his way to help us when we were having trouble renting a car. Thanks Peter! Ruth and Ken
I only stayed for one night, to be honest I think it was a little expensive by Tallinn standards. Didn't see much of Peeter on my short visit. Communication was a little slow by mail but I got there in the end. Sheets hadn't been changed... I can't be too harsh though, I had a very short trip. I'm sure he would be a nice host if you were to stay for a longer period. If you're looking for a place to stay for one night and a decent night sleep, you'll find somewhere that's better value. Good location.
Great review, thanks! I agree, that for one night it can be too expensive, it’s exactly because I prefer longer stay, but also trying to be flexible... But good to know to anyone to come for one night, especially weekend (I had to take taxi to apartment and back to let Gerard in, there my earning went... this is ok) but I can not agree about unchanged sheet, this never ever happened! Maybe the question is about that they aren’t ironed, I need to ask more people about that issue. Thanks for honest review!
Everything is perfect. The flat is as at the picture, pretty and smart. The district is really a centre of the town in foot distance from historical centre, shopping malls, train and bus station, ship terminal. It will cost only about 5 euro to get from the airport by taxi. From my point of view Peeter can be considered an ideal airbnb host.
Peeter was a wonderful host! Our bus was delayed at the border until after he had to go to work and he still managed to meet us at the apartment. In the morning, he had a full, hot breakfast waiting for us, sat and chatted with us, and helped us with directions for the rest of our trip. We thought the room was even nicer than pictured - comfortable bed plus a couch and coffee table; very cosy. I loved all the windows along the far wall - made the room bright and airy. Recommended stay in Tallinn.
About the Host, Peeter
Peeter is my real name (”ee” sounds like ”yeah”) and I am regular Estonian guy, who has studied art (painting), but now prefers working as graphic designer (books, packagings), illustrator, old photos editor and print and prepress specialist. At the moment I work in office of local daily newspaper and therefore my schedule is quite unusual: I go and stay at work on the other half of the day.
Interests: culture, history, politics, economy, cooking, drawing-painting, modern art, design, rock, punk, artsy music, salsa, dancing, ice skating, bicycling rollerblading, skiing cross country, sailing, swimming, traveling and hosting.
Before I joined Airbnb in late 2013, I had hosted around 200 people by C-surfing, you can still find my profile there. I have travelled using CS and Airbnb and I am big fan of both.
I believe, that when you travel and stay in foreign country, then sharing apartment with local(s) to share some good conversations with is the best way to know about the country, it’s history, culture and current events. The question may be: how much privacy you will have? I go to work at around 6PM from Sunday til Thursday and 2PM on Friday to my newspaper office, usually work until midnight, coming home, when my visitors are already sleeping after long day in Old Town and museums. Private bedroom involves 140x200 bed, smaller couch and matress, all towels and linien included. We usually meet on the next morning, when I can prepare breakfast and give suggestions for the new day. Then you probably go to sightseeings and we’ll meet on the next morning again. Apartment is all yours during evenings, with kitchen available for cooking and feeling like home.
Please accept the fact, that shower room with toilet is to be shared with the host. But it’s nicely connected to your bedroom, so it’s not a problem to use it, when you need even at nights.
I’ll never bother you (exept in case of emergency), but you can always ask me, if you need some advice, assistance or suggestions. And I never take extra fee for breakfast or extra people, especially children. Traveling and staying with me must be fun!
I can speak (without counting Estonian, one of the most complicated languages in the world, with around 1 million native speakers) 1) Russian, 2) English, and 3) Polish. You can feel free to write to me in any of these languages (русскоговорящие, напишите мне по-русски, нет проблем. )
I’ll be most happy, if tou feel after trip, like you have met a friend in Tallinn, Estonia. Wish you cosy stay and great experiences! Peace and love!
