Super clean. You'll love staying in one of our cities' most interesting artist neighborhoods, where locals live. Baca St is Centrally located, just 1.8 miles from the plaza and not far from Meow Wolf & main museums.

We are in a local arts area. If you want to stay on the plaza in the tourist area this is not us. We have no TV but 300 MSP WIFI.

Your super clean, elegant room, full of eclectic art, has a comfy king size bed, AC, a sleeper couch, full kitchen, fridge, table & private patio.

The space
Our Santa Fe Classico studio apartment is the artistic fusion of Santa Fe style with a Greco Roman influence. There's a four posted queen bed and twin sleeper. The size of the flat is approximately 420 square feet. We have good WIFI that was recently upgraded.

You enter by passing an ancient Celtic cross-- alas, those Celtic barbarians! But consider it a benediction as you cross the threshold into the world of Santa Fe Classico, a very tranquil and well appointed den.

Two limestone columns accent the right side of the room—they were hand carved by Italian masons for the New Mexico State Capitol Building that burned down in eighteen ninety-two. The scoundrels who torched the iconic structure were never caught!

The room itself is pristine clean, quiet and very comfortable. It is also wheelchair accessible (ADA compliant). There’s ample free parking within fifty feet of the ground floor entrance.

There is a fenced area as you enter with table and chairs for those beautiful Santa Fe days when being outside is the only place to be. We have 300 days of sun a year. We also have blackout blinds just in case you want to sleep in. Whether it’s hot or cold, you’ll stay comfortable with the AC split unit.

The styling is eclectic with a tin ceiling; and original art and architectural details. You'll enjoy the full kitchen with its black Norwegian moonstone counter tops, 24” full range, microwave, midsize fridge. We love to cook so we equipped the kitchen up to our standards with plenty of accessories. If you find anything lacking, we’ll be happy to get it for you.

We have provided an assortment of complementary teas, organic coffee, as well as some basics, such as salt, pepper and organic olive oil. Also organic oatmeal from TJs for those mornings your in a rush.

The floor is red spruce, sustainably harvested by an old New Mexico family. The queen-sized bed with hand honed columns has organic cotton fragrance free linens. We also added a twin sleeper couch. The linens are in the drawer at the bottom of the armoire.

On the wall to the left of the bed you'll find the opening lines of Homer's Odyssey etched in gold glass, hanging on the wall. Below that, the library which is more modest than that of the one in Alexandria burned which was burned down by Caesar in 48 BC. Yet will find a fine selection of fiction, old Lonely Planet guides and most importantly, for the contemplative moments of your stay with us, a sampling of Harvard classics.

The bathroom has a shower accented with tiles reminiscent of Pompeii (though there's no need to worry about volcanic activity.) You’ll also find a washer/dryer with complementary fragrance free detergent.

Classico shares the building with our designer jewelry company, Reflective Jewelry, which has been in business since 1995. Someone is there Monday through Saturday if you need help, or have a jewelry emergency.

We're the only Fairtrade Gold jewelers in the entire USA. In 2019, our company was named Santa Fe New Mexico's Green Business of the Year by our City.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire space: one larger room which has a queen bed and twin sleeper couch, a kitchen, chaise lounge and table, and the adjacent bathroom with a shower and washer/dryer.

Other things to note
We don't have a TV. If you want to watch something, bring your laptop and you can stream your favorite shows on our 300 MPS internet.

Please do let us know your arrival time and keep us in touch if anything changes. Otherwise, we get worried.

We are located 1.8 miles from the plaza, which with is a 10 minute drive. We're at the west end of the rail yard on Baca Street. So, we're not in the touristy historic district, but in a mixed neighborhood full of cool cafes and stores that are popular with locals. Our neighborhood is very safe!

Santa Fe is a high desert area and water is precious. Please conserve water as much as possible.

If you are coming with friends or family and need a second place nearby, we have two other airbnbs in the same building. You can search Arty Comfy airbnb Santa Fe and Blue Sky airbnb to learn more about our other spaces.

Detergent is provided to the side of the washer. Please don’t use dryer sheets. We strive to be fragrance free.

Our plumbing pipes are old! Please, do not flush anything down the toilet except toilet paper.

There is no smoking in the apartment.

Santa Fe is at 7000 feet. Drinking lots of water helps with the altitude.

We have 300 days of sunshine a year in Santa Fe, but we do have snow in the winter and it can get quite cold even in the fall and spring. Check the weather before you come.

Neighborhood highlights

Our location on Baca street is at the end of the old Santa Fe rail yard, which is called the Baca Rail Yard/Arts District . You'll be staying an eclectic neighborhood-- where Santa Fe artists live, work and play.

From our place, you can walk two minutes down the street and take a glass blowing class, have a massage, browse some of Santa Fe’s avant garde galleries or get in trouble at Artifacts, one of our best consignment stores.

When you get hungry, have a green chili smothered burrito at Counter Culture Cafe, which is always packed with locals.

Classic is located adjacent to the boutique of our company, Reflective Jewelry. We're one of Santa Fe's top jewelry designers, Santa Fe's Green Business of the Year for 2019, and the only Fairtrade Gold jeweler in the entire US! 2 Stop by for a studio tour and see how we make our jewelry by hand.

Please note that we not in the historic district, but 1.8 miles from the Santa Fe Plaza. You can walk down town on a bike path that starts two hundred yards down the street from Classico in about half an hour.

We're about 10 minutes’ drive from most of our city's main attractions, from the Plaza downtown, to Meow Wolf, to museums. We're about ten minutes from the train. So, for those who are coming without a car, it's fairly inexpensive to get around town using Lyft. There are also a few good restaurants in easy walking distance.

Marc, my husband, and I have always loved to travel. We have lived and traveled in many countries in central and south America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. Being a host for Airbnb allows us to meet people from all over the world. Santa Fe has been our home since 1986 and we love our city for it's amazing natural beauty, the people that live here, for the arts and cultural activities. We also enjoy hiking, gardening, cooking and just being at home with our cat, Aslan.
