I stayed in Jamie's house for a little over a month. This was a fantastic place to be based. It was close enough to Ubud to benefit from urban modernities, but far enough away to be off the busy streets and away from the crowds of toursits. The house looks out over a rice field. The nights are blissfully dark and quiet and the mornings are lovely. I rented a motorbike for the month, which for me was essential-- it's not possible to walk from the house to the various places or things I wanted to do in the area. This house is on property with four other houses that share the communal pool. Jaime's house is the second to last house in the back of the property closest to the fields. It's nice because even though it feels like you're out in the middle of nowhere, you know you have neighbors nearby in case of emergencies. The neighbors and I shared fruit and chatted and they were nice. The staff who work on the property-- Komang and Nyoman-- are incredibly sweet and smiley. It's such a blessing to have the house cleaned every day (minus Sundays).

Our experience at the Vegetarian House was amazing!! We were picked up in Ubud and led the short way to the house with our luggage. Then when we asked where we could buy some food Nyoman took us there personally. Nyoman and Komang made us feel welcome in every way from playing with our seven-year old daughter, picking up and dropping off our laundry, finding us scooters to rent for the month and even cleaning the house every day! The house is lovely, it is two stories, beautifully decorated and even situated above a wonderful little waterfall that runs some days. It is set amid rice fields and is peaceful and quiet. The pool is great for lap swimming or just playing in. Ubud is a wonderful place to experience culture, eat great food, do yoga, go shopping or just hang out and it is very easy to get to by scooter. We could not have been happier with our experience!

Jaime was a very wonderful, kind, and understanding host. The house is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. It is a 15 min scooter ride into central Ubud which is a really great city for art, restaurants, and the seeing the monkey forest. I would recommend staying here.

Beautiful area, clean house but very slow internet. The shared pool is clean and the stuff helps with everything. Directly in front of the house are rice fields. Always put your food in the fridge and close the lid of the rubbish otherwise there will be a lot of ants. Sweet house 15 min out of ubud with a scooter.

We loved jamies place!! the house and place, garden pool etc is fantastic! Nyoman and koman are great and so helpful. we swam in the sweetwaterpool everyday, had breakfast on the porch and really enjoyed being in this beautiful jungle /ricefield garden :) However as the others have written as well, you should not be scared of bugs.. Its a bit of an adventure to stay in this jungle house, but we absolutely loved it!

Jaime's place was fabulous - quiet and secluded, with stunning sunrise scenes, incredibly comfortable beds, a fabulous caretaker (Nyoman, a personal Thank You to you!), kind and helpful neighbours and incredible jungle sounds coming from every corner. If you're looking for authentic jungle romance - a Robison-style adventure - this place is simply perfect! Great for kids too, though the stairs to the upper bedroom are a little steep. Our 5yr old was delighted by the place... as were we. Would love to be back :)

First of all, the staff we met here were one of the most kind and helpful people we met in Bali. Also, the compound including the garden, the pool and the neighbor houses were so beautiful, full of lush vegetation and charm. We also loved our neighbors. Regarding the house itself, the 2 weeks we spent was too much for us. The house is in complete shadow and because of that and the high humidity, most of our staff got filled with a black mold. We had to throw away some of it. The house had a deserted feeling and in our opinion needs a refresh. Having our 9 months baby with us, we really missed a pleasant area to stay outside.
