Depending on the season, and time of day, you may see a river otter, bobcat, alligator, or birds such as the great blue heron, anhinga, osprey, bald eagle, roseate spoonbill and more. There are 3 bicycles available for enjoying the sites around the historic city, riding along the marsh, the beach, or visiting beautiful Fort Clinch State Park. Amelia Island is a wonderful place to visit, it's beaches are not crowded, the historic district is quaint, there are many talented musicians that play in the pubs and restaurants at night, the atmosphere is laid back, and the local food is amazing!
Jacksonville is only a 45 minute drive, St. Augustine is 1 1/2 hours south, Daytona is 2 hours south, and Savannah is 2 hours north for Day trips, if you feel like venturing off the Island. There are rental cars available at Jacksonville International airport and one on the Island as well as Taxi service.
We recently adopted a dog from a shelter. His name is Parker and he is so sweet and smart. To those who have animal allergies like myself, Parker does not go into the bedrooms or bathrooms.
After a day of exploring the Island and other areas nearby you can relax on the deck with a glass of wine or wake up to coffee, enjoying it on the deck listening to the morning birds singing their songs.
Amelia Island has no public transportation but we do have three taxi services.
8 Flags of Amelia Island: $55.00 fee for airport pick up
Island Hopper: $60.00 fee for airport pick up
However if you would like me to pick you up the fee is $20.00

We had a great time! We were in town for my husband's passion: triathlon! Deborah & Bobby were great hosts! We feel like they are old friends! Their home is in perfect location; we enjoyed biking to beach & downtown. Loved the tips on places to eat, conversation & playing with dog Parker! Would love to visit next summer.
I have been try a wonderful area. Deborah is a so sweet and I like so much her dog. The house is so beautiful more than the pictures. Thank also to Bobby.
This was our first AirBnB experience and Bobby&Deborah made it a great one. They have a beautiful home--very clean and spacious--that is minutes from the beach.
Bobby&Deborah provided everything we needed: sheets, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, parasol, and room for groceries in the fridge, etc. In addition, they provided great conversations. I loved learning about Deborah's art and Bobby's time in the air force.
I was especially impressed by their map of the world, where their passed guests pinned their city of origin. There were pins in countries all across the world.
Overall this was a great experience and I look forward to the next AirBnB. We highly recommend staying with Deborah&Bobby!
I had a great stay at Deborah and Bobby's house. The space was lovely (comfy bed, great bathroom) and they were accommodating and friendly. While I was only there for a night, I could have definitely stayed longer! And having sweet Parker there was a plus!
John and I loved staying with Deborah and Bobby. They (and their lovely dog) were welcoming, they gave us excellent restaurant advice, the room was spacious, and everything was spotless. I so enjoyed talking to Debbie in the morning about her art and her family. My first Airbnb experience and it was wonderful.
Deborah and Bobby are a great couple with an extraordinarily beautiful home. I felt quite fortunate to be able to stay in their home and enjoy the beautifully decorated room. It was extremely comfortable and restful.
It is in a very quiet, safe neighborhood, just blocks from the beach. They do a wonderful job in making you feel welcome. I recommend their home 100 percent.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. We were graciously welcomed and made to feel very comfortable in Deborah & Bobby's beautiful home. Our bedroom & bathroom were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had an excellent night's sleep and awoke to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee. Deborah & Bobby went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend our lovely hosts and look forward to a return visit ourselves.
