The home is located about a block and 1/2 from the beach; so close you can hear the ocean at night. We are also located near Egan's Greek Greenway, a natural preserve where you can explore many grass covered maintained trails. Depending on the season, and time of day, you may see a river otter, bobcat, alligator, or birds such as the great blue heron, anhinga, osprey, bald eagle, roseate spoonbill and more. There are 3 bicycles available for enjoying the sites around the historic city, riding along the marsh, the beach, or visiting beautiful Fort Clinch State Park. We also offer beach chairs and towels to use during your stay.
Amelia Island is a wonderful place to visit, it's beaches are not crowded, the historic district is quaint, there are many talented musicians that play in the pubs and restaurants at night, the atmosphere is laid back, and the local food is amazing!
Jacksonville is only a 45 minute drive, St. Augustine is 1 1/2 hours south, Daytona is 2 hours south, and Savannah is 2 hours north for Day trips, if you feel like venturing off the Island. There are rental cars available at Jacksonville International airport and one on the Island as well as Taxi service.
We recently adopted a dog from a shelter. His name is Parker and he is so sweet and smart. To those who have animal allergies like myself, Parker does not go into the bedrooms or bathrooms.
After a day of exploring the Island and other areas nearby you can relax on the deck with a glass of wine or wake up to coffee, enjoying it on the deck listening to the morning birds singing their songs.
Amelia Island has no public transportation but we do have three taxi services.
8 Flags of Amelia Island: $55.00 fee for airport pick up
Island Hopper: $60.00 fee for airport pick up
However if you would like me to pick you up the fee is $20.00

Bobby and I are very flexible and as long as you treat our house like you would your own, the house rules are very simple. You can come and go as you like and, have guest over for a cookout or small dinner party. We ask that there is no smoking in the house but you are free to smoke out on the deck, and that you bring no pets. If you drive or rent a car, there is parking in the driveway. If you have any special request, just contact us through airbnb. We want you to enjoy your stay with us.
Debbie and Bobby were very welcoming. They advised us great places for dinner and a gluten-free place for breakfast. The room was clean and super comfortable and they were very open and flexible with the arrangements for our kids. The beach was beautiful! Wish we had had more time to build sand castles. All in all, we had an amazing stay; great conversations and fabulous art by Deborah herself. Would definitely stay there again!
Staying with Deborah and Bobby was more like visiting friends. The hospitality and warmth we were met with made us feel at home, not like guests in someone's house. I cannot say enough positive things. The accommodations, friendship and hospitality were such a gift. Add to that the most well behaved warm friendly dog in the world and it made for a perfect weekend. I am so appreciative of the experience. Thank you
Deborah and Bobby, Parker the dog, and their home was lovely and as accurate as the description... even better. Their home was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. Parker was a delight, and visiting and sharing stories with Deborah and Bobby was really what makes Airbnb unique. Like visiting old friends and never missing the sterility of a hotel room.
We were comfortable, separated from their end of the house so we could be in our space but access to the open kitchen and living room. They were on hand for everything, had coffee ready in the morning, and the bikes for our adventure around the island.
Deborah has thought of everything and these two Airbnb experts have made the most of their large home since their kids have flown the coop. Thank you!
Best hosts yet. Clean, comfortable, and conscientious. Beautiful house too.
Deborah and Bobby were the most amazing hosts. I had a great time there. Their home is beautiful and clean. They have the sweetest dog, Parker. I rode my bike just about everyday to the beach. It was so close. They were very helpful on places to go and places to eat. I would be back in a heartbeat!! Thank you!
Our host was very cordial and welcoming. She helped us with restaurants and activities. The house and neighborhood were lovely. Location was good.
We had a great experience at Deborah and Bobby's! They made everything about our stay comfortable and convenient, and the house was so clean!! Bobby helped us stash our bicycles in their garage, and Deborah and I had a lot of fun watching the birds at their feeders in the backyard. Bed and bathroom were fresh and very comfortable! They also were so helpful in advising us about places to ride our bikes and to watch wildlife, providing us with maps of the area and the local Greenway, and had good suggestions for places to eat.
We love to travel and have lived and visited many places here in the United States and other countries. Both of us are out going, nonjudgmental and love meeting new people, always making new friends. We have 4 grown children and one grandson. (UPDATE) We now have a little granddaughter born June 13, 2013! Our lives have been enriched by the people we have met and the places we have experienced. We look forward to meeting you.
