The home is located about a block and 1/2 from the beach; so close you can hear the ocean at night. We are also located near Egan's Greek Greenway, a natural preserve where you can explore many grass covered maintained trails. Depending on the season, and time of day, you may see a river otter, bobcat, alligator, or birds such as the great blue heron, anhinga, osprey, bald eagle, roseate spoonbill and more. There are 3 bicycles available for enjoying the sites around the historic city, riding along the marsh, the beach, or visiting beautiful Fort Clinch State Park. We also offer beach chairs and towels to use during your stay.
Amelia Island is a wonderful place to visit, it's beaches are not crowded, the historic district is quaint, there are many talented musicians that play in the pubs and restaurants at night, the atmosphere is laid back, and the local food is amazing!
Jacksonville is only a 45 minute drive, St. Augustine is 1 1/2 hours south, Daytona is 2 hours south, and Savannah is 2 hours north for Day trips, if you feel like venturing off the Island. There are rental cars available at Jacksonville International airport and one on the Island as well as Taxi service.
We recently adopted a dog from a shelter. His name is Parker and he is so sweet and smart. To those who have animal allergies like myself, Parker does not go into the bedrooms or bathrooms.
After a day of exploring the Island and other areas nearby you can relax on the deck with a glass of wine or wake up to coffee, enjoying it on the deck listening to the morning birds singing their songs.
Amelia Island has no public transportation but we do have three taxi services.
8 Flags of Amelia Island: $55.00 fee for airport pick up
Island Hopper: $60.00 fee for airport pick up
However if you would like me to pick you up the fee is $20.00
Other Things to Note

Bobby and I are very flexible and as long as you treat our house like you would your own, the house rules are very simple. You can come and go as you like and, have guest over for a cookout or small dinner party. We ask that there is no smoking in the house but you are free to smoke out on the deck, and that you bring no pets. If you drive or rent a car, there is parking in the driveway. If you have any special request, just contact us through airbnb. We want you to enjoy your stay with us.
Deborah and Bobby were great. The room looks just like the pictures. Clean, cozy and quiet. Our hosts could not have been nicer and more welcoming. They were very knowledgeable about what to do, see and eat on the island. Parker, their dog, is awesome. Always there to greet you at the door but not in an over bearing way. If only my dog were so well behaved. I highly recommend Fernandina Beach and Deborah and Bobby's place.
Deborah and Bobby gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at their lovely home. Bobby likes to play the guitar and Deborah is very a very gifted artist. Their neighborhood seemed very safe as we enjoyed riding their bikes to a nearby preserve. We loved the fact that the beach was only four blocks away. The town was about about a seven minute drive from their home. Our favorite experience was taking the Amelia Island Cruise down the river and past Cumberland Island. We would love to return to see Deborah and Bobby again.
I can't think of any way my stay could have been better. I arrived late because of kayaking. The house was beautiful and the hosts were nice! I wish I had had more time there. I would have taken a bike ride in the area.
Very outgoing and welcoming. The house is in a nice neighborhood, and the room had all the needed conveniences.
Everything about Nice Cozy Room was perfect.Deborah and Bobby were outstanding host.We had so much fun with them. There home was beautiful and comfortable .They had everything you could possibility need. This is the place to stay if you are going to Ameila Island.
Deborah and Bobby were very friendly and made us feel very welcome in their home. They encouraged us to freely use the kitchen and outdoor deck as if it was our own. The private bedroom and bath fully met our expectations.
We found the home's location very convenient for exploring the parks, beach and downtown areas of the island by bike.
One evening, after we returned from dining out, Deborah treated us to some adult beverages and Bobby played guitar and sang for over an hour. Truly an amazing evening with a great couple.
We highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to Amelia Island.
We had such wonderful stay with Deborah and Bobby! Their place is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The bed is extremely comfortable. They are located a short walk from the beach and a nature trail. Best of all, they are both incredibly kind people and we had several wonderful conversations with them. We definitely would recommend them to others and stay with them again if we are in the area!
We love to travel and have lived and visited many places here in the United States and other countries. Both of us are out going, nonjudgmental and love meeting new people, always making new friends. We have 4 grown children and one grandson. (UPDATE) We now have a little granddaughter born June 13, 2013! Our lives have been enriched by the people we have met and the places we have experienced. We look forward to meeting you.
