During the winter in Pensacola is not too much boat in the dock. Guest will have plenty of freedom and privacy to do anything he/she want allow in the boat (no party, smoke, guns )
It is a parking next to the dock. If the guest is going to rent a car, he/she can park his/her car there. If he/she want I can pick him/her up from the airport previous contact by phone and depending of time or arrive.
Pass a vacation in a boat can be cheap because will save you a lot money and you can use this saving to visit other different place or just keep it with you. But it is a main thing that is important to remind you: The Marina is in a military base, have rules and regulation. Please check the House rules before you checking in.
I went down to Florida to see my man as he is currently there in the barracks- not housing so I had to find another place, hence the boat. I stayed on the boat for about 2 weeks. Starting with that, I would not stay that long again. For short time frames (a few days) it was really nice. I really liked laying on the pier at night and seeing the stars as bright as they were. I liked the uniqueness of the experience. While I did really enjoy it, there were several things to point out as slight flaws. There was a bit of leaking into the room itself. I was able to cover them for the most part but some were just obnoxious when it poured down rain and we were fighting to keep dry and we found that our clothes got wet in one spot. Also there wasn't much room for a suit case to be put down so it stayed on the bed with us. There is no shower either so extended stays and spit baths, not so much fun w/o hot water. Also, the time constraints to leave the boat and such because of it's location were a hassle of sorts. I did feel safer being on the base rather than in a hotel somewhere and it was closer to seeing my honey with walking paths to go between safely.
I will say that despite the few fall backs Joselito was a GREAT host. He picked me up at the airport, dropped me off, helped me get to and from the barracks, and even helped me on my Spanish a bit. If I had a friend going down for an overnight, I'd recommend it, as for a long stay like I did, not so much.
Really was a great experience though and I appreciate all of the help that he gave while I was there.
My 14 day stay on The Ciera was the highlight of my stay in Pensacola. What would have been an otherwise dreary work trip was instead a memorable experience. The boat provided an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the marina and the hospitality of a Marine. Joselito was an excellent ambassador to the city and provided me with all the comforts of home. The boat itself was cozy and gave me an opportunity to spend my nights with the comfort of the sea. I will be returning to Florida for work in April and hope I again have the opportunity to rent the boat. Thank you again Joselito. Your favorite civilian, Jordan.
