Philip's house is beautiful. My daughter and I had a great stay there. Great location, 5 minute walk to the main square and far enough away to get away from all the other tourists. Philip was very welcoming and accommodating. I highly recommend staying there
This place was awesome. We had a nice talk with Philip when we arrived, he is an awesome guy. The place was great, and the location could not have been better. Beautiful! Also, the honor beer bar is a great idea, and we were happy to pay for some easy access beer on arrival.
I arrived a few moments early from a cafe a few meters away. Really liked having the lockbox for the keys adjacent to the door: makes checking in easy. Philip welcomed me and was kind enough to let me drop my bags inside while I explored Bruges. He gave me a brief but really thorough rundown on many spots only locals would know about, as well a few must-do touristy things. I appreciated his insistence that if I needed anything, to reach out to him.
The location is outstanding: no more than a 5 to 15 minute walk to cover the interesting parts of the city. There are a number of nearby cafes and bars/pubs.
The home has plenty of space. There is a 1st floor living room as well as a 3rd floor parlor with a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. Would have appreciated a water filter pitcher or the like in the mini fridge since there was no tap (other than the bathrooms of course). The honor bar was a nice touch.
The master bedroom was comfortable. Note to any tall people: the stairs are tight and narrow, you really need to watch your head as you climb! Nothing surprising as many older homes in the Benelux are narrow and have similar staircases.
The 2nd floor bathroom needs work: specifically the bathtub. The exposed wall, ~1cm gap between the top of the tub and wall, as well as the flimsy walls around the basin should be fixed. As I bathed I had to be pretty conscious about not splashing any water into this gap & down into the wall. It's apparent that while almost all of the house's renovation is complete, there is still work left to be done here.
Otherwise, the place was fairly clean & fresh.
This place suits larger parties and I'm sure you'd be satisfied here. Even if you are a couple or solo, this place offers outstanding proximity to the city center, at an great value.
Our stay in Brugge was nothing short of amazing. We loved the town, and the apartment was in a great location. Close to everything. We hope to return!
Fantastic location in a beautiful city.
House as described by Philip, however we would say it is not renovated , but in the final stages of being finished.
This was not a issue for us. clean and Philip on hand assist with anything....he kindly called us a taxi and we had to borrow a bottle opener.
As listed do not expected a full kitchen, but enough supplied to have a comfortable stay for a short period.
We stayed with our 8 month old son, Philip kindly supplied a travel cot. Our son very much enjoyed a soak in the lovely large bath tub after a long day out in the town.
Was a bit warm inside, up the top level, nice to open the windows but and the mosquito's where out, so pack insect repellent!!!
We used Philip recommendations for dinner, great dinner deal price before 6pm....a soup and a choice of steak & frites or Fish for €19
It is the 2ed restaurant along the canal.
The bakery Paulus is amazing and great value, brought breakfast there twice to eat at the house and once along the canal.
Our number one tip:
on the street the house is on towards the fish market on that side is a deli/butcher/ boulangerie, it has green window canopies.
This shop is amazing!!! Great ready made meals and beautiful selection of deli products, and all at a great price!!!
If your a early riser like our son is, beat the crowds and go for a early morning stroll through the town centre, so peaceful and your not elbow to elbow with everyone else.
It was awesome, nice house, nice contact, really good all around. In the middle of everything with a carpark around the corner and good food across the street. Must go when going to brugge.
