Large room with three good-sized beds, perfect for a family. You will need to share the bathroom, but there is a washbasin in the room. Towels supplied. There's also a kettle for tea and coffee.
It's 35 Euros per person over 12 years per night including breakfast. Under fours go free and we can supply a travel cot if you need one.
Come and stay with us in our ancient farmhouse, built originally in 1611, and passed down in our family for generations. Within easy distance of Londonderry which is City of Culture 2013, and its airport. Close to the Ulster American Folk Park, Grianan Fort and a hour's drive from Glenveagh Castle, and not too from the Giant's Causeway and the beaches of the North Coast.
Excellent restaurants nearby in Lifford and Strabane.
We are also setting up a small museum to describe the unique history of the property. The house is set in beautiful Donegal farmland, and we also have a fishing lake, for coarse fishing for you to enjoy.
Longvale is not a hotel, it is our family home and a working farm, which we are happy to share with chosen guests. The furniture and furnishings are in keeping with the historical nature of the property. We expect our guests to understand this before booking. There is a breakfast menu available, and we try to cater for special diets. Otherwise most of our guests enjoy a full Irish breakfast, cooked with local ingredients where possible. There is a guests' sitting room with television, a spacious dining room and large garden and farm. Rocky the dog is part of the family. Everyone enjoys tea and home-made cake on the house on arrival. You pay 35 Euros a night each, with children under 12 half price, sharing the parents' bedroom. Under fours are free, and we can supply a travel cot if required.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Longvale. Jean and her family were most welcoming and warm - we loved getting to know her grandchildren!
The AirBnB listing was exactly as we found it! We appreciated learning the farm's history from Luke and Mervyn. After much driving on our vacation, the solitude of the farm was most welcome and relaxing. Our room was nice and quiet for the three of us providing us with restful nights' sleep.
The breakfasts were so tasty and had us ready for the day. Tea and biscuits on our arrival gave us the spark of energy we needed as we darted out for our next visit with nearby friends.
Longvale offered my husband the type of stay he envisioned during our trip to Ireland!

Longvale House has been in the McKean family for three generations,ánd we have been entertaining guests at our comfortable, traditional bed and breakfast on the farm since 1987.
