I use airbnb regularly and this is by far the best stay I've ever had. It's what all airbnb experiences should be like. Unique, serendipitous and heartwarming. Tea and homemade cakes were served at check-in. Was welcomed and made to feel at home immediately. No other guests around so luckily stayed at the family room with an ensuite bathroom. Spacious with two double beds, which were fitted in with electric blankets for extra warmth, a wardrobe, comfy chairs, a basin, a dressing table on which sat a range of antique silverware. Hot shower. Beautiful decor throughout the house is evidential proof of the long history of this house and the generations of family who have lived here. Breakfast order was taken the night before, served on time, freshly cooked and delicious. Were shown around the farm in the morning which was a very special experience too. Close proximity to a river and an island which offer a chance for a good walk in the countryside. I'd highly recommend it to anyone - especially so if you appreciate peace and quiet, fresh air, exquisite antique furniture and delicate decorations passed down over hundreds of years, and last but not least excellent hosts! NB NOT in Ballindrait as airbnb suggests, closest town is LIFFORD. About 2 miles on R265 off from N14. Best thing to do: find "Longvale House" on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps.

Thank you Erin, it was a privilege to meet you and your parents. We enjoyed talking with you and learning something about your country, we were just sorry we didn't have more time. We trust that you enjoyed your time in Ireland and hope we might meet you again. Mervyn and Jean.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Longvale. Jean and her family were most welcoming and warm - we loved getting to know her grandchildren! The AirBnB listing was exactly as we found it! We appreciated learning the farm's history from Luke and Mervyn. After much driving on our vacation, the solitude of the farm was most welcome and relaxing. Our room was nice and quiet for the three of us providing us with restful nights' sleep. The breakfasts were so tasty and had us ready for the day. Tea and biscuits on our arrival gave us the spark of energy we needed as we darted out for our next visit with nearby friends. Longvale offered my husband the type of stay he envisioned during our trip to Ireland!

Longvale House has been in the McKean family for three generations,ánd we have been entertaining guests at our comfortable, traditional bed and breakfast on the farm since 1987.
