This was a perfect place to stay for me, my fiance, and our friends with their baby. It's a very family friendly place. We loved being able to walk down to the water to grab coffee or something to eat. It made our stay so much more relaxing to be across the bridge outside of San Francisco rather than in the city itself. The place was clean and very cozy. Great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. There was a small mix up about the internet but it was resolved that very evening. My only other concern is the fact that there is very little sound proofing and with tenants above and below guests have to be very aware of not making too much noise. However, if you are looking for a simply beautiful and relaxing weekend in Sausalito then this is the perfect place for you to stay.
One of the most beautiful places in San Francisco. Sausalito is the perfect getaway or a cosy place to rest after a busy day in the bustling city, across the Golden Gate Bridge. Pico's apartment is good for 2 - 4 people, has an excellent kitchen but nothing comes close to the perfect patio with a view of Sausalito and the marina. A bio food store is nearby and gourmet restaurants featuring japanese, thai or american. Pico just bought a huge plasma TV and has complimentary Netflix ( :) if you aren't exhausted after a full day in San Francisco. Great people, perfect experience. Thank you for the mongol tea and coffee, all the great advice. I think I got new friends in SF now...
The house was nice and confortable. The location is very nice with beatifull viem. You can ear the sealion.
Kay was very kind and was always worried with our experience, giving us tips about Sausalito and the house.
The place was a little dirty, even though we had payed a considerable amount as cleaning fee. Besides that, it was also a problem that we couldn't make much noise, since Kay has a little girl and they live downstairs.
But overall it was a great experience, the place is very very beautiful, the house is big, spacious and Sausalito is a great location to spend your vacation days!
Also, it's provided Netfix with a great amount of movies in a very big TV :)
The reservation was canceled 85 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed at this bnb location in Dec of 2013. We initially were hesitant to book this particular one because there was only one review and not as much details as we'd like to see before booking. At the end we just ended up booking anyway.
First, I think that saying that it's "ocean facing" is misleading. As you would think that you have an ocean view from somewhere in the house. That is not the case. The unit is located on top of a hill and has nice terrace but no view of the ocean. I am not sure why some of the images are included in here as they misrepresent the location. At least may be titles for the images would help. They are of areas near by.
This unit is a middle unit which means that there is someone living above and below this unit. If you are a light sleeper you might consider not going with this unit as the tenant above wakes up at 5 am and you can hear every step and squeak until she/he exits the house a little after 6am.
The landlord, PICO was nice and responsive. We saw her our last night in the unit when she came by with a nice warm night drink and some dvd’s. We had no issues checking in or checking out. We checked in late during our first night and she was nice about it and flexible.
Kitchen: nice kitchen not well presented in photos. Has a microwave and somewhat equipped. If you are planning for a long stay and will be doing a lot of cooking make sure you ask the landlord specific questions before booking. Refrigirator was not empty and had leftover items. Freezer was full to the max…again if you need the fridge/freezer for your own use make sure you ask the landlord first.
Living room: very nice with a comfy sectional and huge tv. Althogh make sure you bring your own dvds’ of have a Netflix account. The is a blue ray player that is connected to the internet so you can access some of the apps. We didn’t need to use it as we were out most of the time.
Dining room: very sunny as it is surrounded by glass windows/doors. There is a nice terrace that would be very enjoyable during warm weather.
Bedrooms: nice size with decent beds and okay pillows and bedding. Overall comfortable and clean. No closet in one bedroom. (closet in barthroom instead)
Bathrooms: good overall. In one of the bathrooms the sink had no running hot water. Had to use faucet in tub.
Nice hardwood floors but the carpet can use a bit of vacuuming/cleaning.
The location is nice and there are few nice restaurants nearby. We managed to have some great meals in this town.
Overall this is a decent place to stay for few days.
This flat offers great views of the harbor and the hillside. It is a short steep walk to the Lighthouse Cafe, our favorite breakfast place! The neighborhood is friendly and welcoming. The onsite washer and dryer was great for our traveling with our son.
