The Space

Second floor apartment with oversized windows that fill every space with light. Large eat-in kitchen. Full bathroom with tub. Stainless steel appliances. Granite countertops. This apartment is located in the heart of San Francisco. You will be within walking distance to all kinds of restaurants. From New American to fancy French cuisine.

Easy access to bus lines. Bus kiosk for passes is 2 blocks away. Just around the corner is the 38 bus, which will take you directly to downtown or Ocean Beach. No car needed! I take the bus everywhere in the city from this neighborhood. Or, you can walk to some major tourist attractions like Golden Gate Park, Haight/Ashbury, Japantown, the Presidio. Trader Joe's is 2 blocks away, and there are 2 other markets just 5 minutes away.

I grew up in this neighborhood, so I know every nook and cranny. Would be happy to share it with you!

If you have a car I do have daily parking passes from the city for $16/day. Or, if you book 6-8 weeks in advance and are planning to stay for several days I am happy to get a weekly pass for you for $37/week.

Guest Access

Entire apartment and front courtyard.

Interaction with Guests

Self-catering apartment, but I am always available via phone, IM or e-mail.

The Neighborhood

The Richmond District is a local's neighborhood. It encompasses a wide range of neighborhoods, including Little Russia, Clement Street (AKA Little Chinatown), Laurel Village, Japantown, and Haight Street. It is very kid friendly with playgrounds dotted all around the area. Walking trails are abundant especially with Golden Gate Park and the Presidio just minutes away by foot. Restaurants are very reasonably priced and are frequented mostly by locals.

Getting around

The 38 bus, which is a major line in San Francisco, is just around the corner. Bus kiosk for passes is two blocks away.

If you have a car I do have daily parking passes from the city for $16/day. Or, if you book far enough in advance and are planning to stay for several days I am happy to get a weekly pass for you for $37/week. It's mostly 2hr parking during the weekdays on my street, but there are blocks nearby with all day free parking.

Taxis from the airport usually run $50. Airport shuttles are around $15/person. And public transport is about $11/person, however you will have to take the BART train, the 38 bus and then walk two blocks to the apartment.

  • My parents in law stayed in Quynh's house for a month. They absolutely loved her house and her attentive care during their stay. The house is located close to GGP, Presidio, and Lands end which are great walking and hiking places. Bus 38 stop is within a two minutes walking distance from her house so it was very convenient to get to downtown as well. I highly recommend her house and will stay in her house again for sure!

  • The wonderful thing about Quynh's apartment is that it is even better than the pictures. We thought it looked charming in the photos, but in real life it is magical. Each room is beautifully curated with artful touches everywhere. The layout makes it feel very spacious. The kitchen is marvelous, completely stocked, with the feeling that a real chef has lived there. Although it feels like it is someone's home, there is plenty of storage space in all the cupboards and closets. There is a lovely bathroom and plenty of clean towels. And Quynh is a delight to deal with. Her communication is excellent. We would definitely stay here again. It truly felt like home.

  • This apartment was exactly as advertised. It had lots of light and air. The furnishings were well appointed. It was at once clean and simple as well as comfortable and restful. Set back in a courtyard and up a wood stoop, it almost felt like a tree house - perfect after a long day of walking the streets of San Francisco. Moreover, we were treated to Quynh's delightful artworks and installation pieces that adorned the walls and fixtures.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Quynh's beautiful flat in Presidio Heights. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 young boys and the location can't be beat. The complimentary wine after an arduous journey from the East was much appreciated too. We wish we could have stayed longer than our 3 days!

  • We completely echo the comments of others who have reported on their stay at Quynh's apartment (that feels like a little townhouse because of its separate entrance). it is the perfect cozy spot to call home while in San Francisco. We found the place spotless, with everything we needed as visitors to hand the minute we thought of it. We loved the quirky layout, the decor, the comfiest couch in the world, and the big kitchen table that was the sunny hangout spot for everything.

The location is great, as others have mentioned. Having Trader Joe's around the corner is a treat for stocking up, and I loved having "the strip" of shops, delis and fresh markets nearby on California. When we arrived, we found our way to the Muni kiosk as Quynh had suggested and bought passes for our stay, and travel from Geary or California was a breeze from there.

We travelled with our 6 year old son, and the apt worked well in our case. The bedroom next to the kitchen is sunny and big enough for toys and play. The second bed, in a room off the living room, is quite separate and we were able to relax to our grown up space in the evenings. The stoop a great place to hang out with a cup of tea and bask in the sunshine.

    We hope to come again!

  • There are only great things to say about my experience at this charming little flat:)

The bed was really comfortable with cozy linens. The kichen was fully equipt to cook in. I have to say I was really excited that it was two rooms as I had a friend join me during my stay. everything was spotless from top to bottom and I felt I could relax and enjoy my vacation.

Having a supermarket close by was an added bonus. public transport was amazing in the city and getting around from the flat's location was simple and efficient.

Wishing I would have stayed longer.

  • I rented this space for my father in law to visit us. From what it sounded like, we should have stayed there and given him our place:)

  • Quynh's apartment was very cozy and clean. And just as described. Comfortable beds, large kitchen table, great location... We really enjoyed to stay there. Quynh answered quicly to all our questions. No need for a car, bus stop near by. But if you have one, there are parking places by the street. Trader's Joe just around the corner. We eould recomment the apartment to all and would definetly stay there again. Thanks Quynh!
