As much as is needed. I will be present.
My neighborhood is convenient to just about anything any visitor to NOLA would be interested in seeing. I am a block away from Magazine Street which is full of restaurants of all kinds, boutiques, bars, and antique shops. A bus line on the street can take you to downtown and the French Quarter or further Uptown to Tulane and Loyola Universities and lush Audubon Park and Zoo. You can walk to St. Charles Avenue and catch a street car if you prefer. A grocery store is 3 blocks away and Tipitini's with its variety of music venues is close as well. And it is in the heart of practically every Mardi Gras parade. It's fun to just get out on the street and watch the parades form and listen to the bands play as they wait to march.
Yes. Convenient to streetcar and bus. Off street parking is available. Guests are 25 minutes from the airport. Taxis are readily available.
Other Things to Note
Guests have a private entrance, patio and deck. The neighborhood is usually quiet.
My friend and I stayed at Bonnie's for our weekend girls' trip New Orleans and she was a wonderful host! We arrived on Friday night from the airport and she was there to greet us with restaurant recommendations and a generous ride to the streetcar station. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and we had plenty of space, including a back porch that we could sit out on as well. We loved the location and Bonnie was so accommodating during our wonderful visit!
Bonnie was an amazing host, and the room and neighborhood were great. The outdoor deck was a perfect place to have our morning coffee, and the flowers and plants in the outdoor space were very charming. I would definitely recommend her place to friends and family visiting the area.
The reservation was canceled 27 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a wonderful honeymoon weekend at Bonnie's. She was a very gracious hostess. Since the entrance was private we did not see her often but she checked in daily to make sure we had everything we needed and that the temperature was okay. She gave us good information about restaurants in the area. We hope to stay there again.
We had a fabulous stay in NOLA! The apartment is within easy walking distance of many things, but also near the street car and bus lines. The space is very comfortable and on a peaceful street. There is plenty to do in the neighborhood, but we did lots of walking to explore surrounding areas as well. Bonnie is incredibly kind and wants to make sure her guests enjoy their stay. She came to the rescue when my clothes for my conference were a little worse for wear and checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything, gave us some great recommendations on places to eat, and even welcomed us to town with a king cake! What a great first airbnb experience!
Nice and charming cottage in a very nice neighborhood. Just a few steps from magazine street with nice coffee shops and stores. The cottage has a little apartment in the back with a nice big bed, a nice clean bathroom with lots of fresh towels and even a small living room with a couch. There is a deck outside as well. We really enjoyed coming here after a couple days by the french quarter. It was very relaxing and we felt home even so we were only here for one night. Bonnie is a very loving and amazing person, she has lots of storries to tell and we wish we could have stayed longer. We were very unlikely to find a cab on new years day and bonnie immediately offered to drive us to the airport, also she dropped us off the night before at a concert venue. She did all that for free and we are really thankful for that. It made our stay even more relaxed and so much more enjoyable. Highly recommended, we will definitely go back.
Thank you Bonnie for everything.
We enjoyed our 4 stay day on Marengo! As a N.O. native it was great to go back and stay in a real N.O. house rather than a hotel. The location is fantastic, walking distance to many restaurants, shops and transportation. If you drive there is a separate parking space for your car. There is a separate private entrance. The space includes a small living area with a comfy sofa, a rocking chair, a cool old pie cabinet, a small fridge and microwave. There is a nice full bathroom with plenty of towels and hot water. Down the hall is the bedroom, which is decorated with many family photos, giving it a very homey feel. It has a double bed, dresser and chair. Both rooms have high ceilings with fans. There is a heating/ac vent in each room and Bonnie made sure were were comfortable with the temp setting. There isn't a TV but you won't miss it since there is so much to do in the neighborhood. Bonnie was a great hostess, on the premises but unobtrusive. She asked after us each day by email and gave us the opportunity to let her know if we needed anything. The fridge was stocked with soft drinks, juices and wine. There is also a nice deck and patio outside. Even in December there were flowers blooming and even an orange on a potted orange tree. For anyone who would like an authentic New Orleans experience I recommend this cottage.
I am a native New Orleanian who loves to have a good time. I am an English teacher at a private school and I will retire at the end of the school year. I love animals and try to rescue them at every opportunity. I love all festivals and music venues in the city.
