About This Listing
We have a three bedroom house just a short walk from Kennington tube station where you get access to both branches of the northern line. There are also bus's that go just about anywhere in London from the Walworth road (three minute walk). If you are here to see Parliament and The London Eye you can walk there and stop for a bite on the Southbank. There are three rooms available this room is a double on the first floor with dresser and wardrobe with coat hangers for hanging clothes.
Lovely garden and patio area. The house is back from any roads so there is no traffic noise :) If you require meals this can be arranged, there will be breakfast cereal, bread for toast etc available in the morning. Feel free to help yourself to teas and coffee.
There is an A-Z in the room to help you find your way about. We are happy to show you the local pub which has an excellent wine list and great menu all at a good price.
Also Parking can be arranged for an additional £10 a day, notice required.
We love to meet new people and socialise however sometimes we can be busy with our work and study. We do like to travel ourselves and may on occasion be out of town but always contactable, with friends nearby if required. When we are around we do pride ourselves on our friendly Scottish/Irish hospitality and do strive to make your stay feel as close to home as possible.
Kathryn and Ben
This is your home while travelling and you should treat it as such :)
You will have full access to the kitchen and livingroom while you visit. Bens room is off the livingroom so we tend to move to the kitchen to keep talking after 10pm on weeknights.
Interaction with Guests
If i am in town i am always up for a chat etc however sometimes i have a paper due and can be busy. I work full time as a firefighter and i am studying part time for my masters so sometimes its hectic but most of the time i like a good chat. I would like to say though that it is not a hotel and its our home so the experience is very different to that of a hotel. I will try and help you in any way i can but i dont make a very good concierge. There are lots of leaflets and ideas for things to do in London on the table in the kitchen.
There is a street market and lots of great local pubs that do fabulous food.
This is perhaps the best neighbourhood in London for accessing the rest of London. There are good transport links for all of London including tube and buses.
There is no smoking in the house but we have a lovely area outside in the garden with table and chairs where that we ask you to smoke instead.
Other than that we are very easy going and ask only that you clean up after yourself if you use the kitchen, we have a dishwasher to make that easier :)
Kathryn was an excellent host. Though we didn't see her much, what brief interactions we had with her were friendly and very helpful. We felt very safe walking to and from the Tube at night, and thought it was the perfect mix of urban and residential. The room was a bit small but perfect for European standards. Definitely recommend for future guests.
Had a great stay at this location and really not far from the Kennington tube. Was always in contact with the Hostess. There was one hic-up but was resolved quickly. I would stay there again and recommend to friends. I slept very well in the comfortable bed w/ soft pillows and quality bedding. It was also a very quiet area.
I have nothing but amazing things to say our about stay at Kathryn's. Her home is a spacious flat, with great kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom space. The neighborhood is quiet, and the flat is very clean and tidy. A 5 minute walk from the Kennington Station and a convenient grocery store just 3 blocks away make this location ideal!
Kathryn is an absolute star to work with. She is easy to reach and was able to help us when we had questions.
Katheryn was very nice and helpful to prepare our trip. The house is quiet and clean, and the nieghborhoud very quiet. The house is very close to the subway and city center.
The breakfast was great.
We didn't have the chance to meet Kathryn and we missed the experience of staying in a local's home for a few days. We also shared the kitchen with another couple that was staying in another room, which wasn't a problem at all, but we didn't know that. A part from that, excellent location very near to the tube station and other facilities (store, pub and other restaurants). Room and bathroom very clean, new and comfy. You also have your kitchen at your disposal and you won't probably miss anything.
This was our favorite place to stay on our trip! We didn't get to meet Katherine but we did see Ben and he was so accommodating, staying at their home felt almost like staying at our own home. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here!
First time in London and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place is very well kept. Milk, orange juice, cereal, toast and jam are provided, which is very nice of Ben and Kathryn. Located in a quiet neighborhood just a walk away from the tube station, this place made our travels especially easy to Central London to hit all the must-sees. Genuinely friendly people! Definitely would recommend

About the Host, Kathryn
Hi there :)
I am a 35 year old Scottish firefighter who loves to travel and try new things. I love meeting new people and air BNB has been an excellent experience.
This is our favorite place to eat and just a two minute walk from the house :O) This is a lovely pub with a wonderful menu and extensive wine list. It also helps that most main meals are under £10.Carter St London SE17
