About This Listing
Our 2-level 2000 square foot penthouse has wonderful Manhattan views from 4 balconies and the stunning private roofdeck. Minutes to downtown, and close to everything in Williamsburg. Gourmet kitchen, your own full bathroom, on a quiet street.
In our humble opinion, this is one of the most beautiful apartments in Williamsburg. We truly love living here, and look forward to inviting you into the space for what we hope will be a truly enjoyable experience here in this wonderful, exciting neighborhood.
The large 16x13 guest bedroom you'll be staying in has a lovely new, comfy queen sized bed, a closet, chest of drawers and separate wardrobe, a desk of your own with a view of Manhattan and, of course, your own balcony and two chairs to relax in while you look over the city sipping coffee from one of the neighborhood's wonderful coffee shops. You'll also have your own full bathroom, complete with shower/tub.
The living room and gourmet kitchen area is huge (almost 25x25) and is perfect for relaxing and listening to music, or watching a movie or TV on the big screen, or playing piano on the keyboard. Off the living room are two balconies... one is a breakfast balcony with furniture, perfect for watching the sun set over the city while having dinner. Feel free to take advantage of the gourmet kitchen, then take your dinner up to the roof deck for a romantic dinner!
Speaking of the roof deck, it's huge (25x25), and comes complete with a couch, chairs and a dining table and umbrella for you to use. We also grow herbs and veggies in a container garden that you're welcome to harvest in season. Just ask!
The apartment itself has central air conditioning and heating throughout, and is very comfortable. You'll also have access to full cable TV (HBO and Showtime), a media center loaded with movie, Netflix streaming movies, and Wifi throughout the apartment.
Please note that the apartment is on the 4th (top) floor of a walk-up building, so if mobility is a concern, please reach out to us first before booking so we can discuss accessibility. The many steps ensures the great view!
Interaction with Guests
As for us, we both live in, and Brian works in, the apartment, so we're very accessible to help to make your stay a happy one, whether it's making dining or nightlife suggestions, or just giving travel directions. Just let us know what you need. We'll be happy to be as involved with your stay as you need... or if you need a little privacy, just let us know. Brian's work is quite mobile. We might even be able to pick you up from, or take your to, LGA or JFK airport or Penn Station if you need a lift. Again, just ask.
Of course, you'll also be smack dab in the middle of Williamsburg, one of the most exciting neighborhoods in the city. The apartment is in the Graham Ave district, which is lined with quaint coffee shops, bars, stores and restaurants. It's the best of Williamsburg... a quiet, cozy corner with plenty to do at your doorstep, and only minutes away from the hubbub.
And, only a 5-10 minute walk away are the bars, clubs, shopping, theaters and restaurants of the Lorimer and Bedford areas of Williamsburg. Please don't hesitate to ask me for recommendations. I love helping guests with dining, sightseeing and nightlife ideas! Of course, you're also only a convenient 15 minutes via subway to Union Square in the heart of downtown Manhattan.
Parking is also fairly abundant in the neighborhood. I own a car myself, and never have a problem finding parking within 2-3 blocks of the apartment. If necessary, since I work from home, I'm generally available to help move your car during street cleaning days. Just ask!
No smoking or candle lighting in the apartment, please. Though, I don't mind if you smoke on the roof deck. Just please be responsible and mind your used butts!
Also, please use the kitchen however you'd like, but do clean up after yourself... clean pots and pans, and put dishes in the dishwasher.
You can bring in guests, but please do check in with me first so I have a sense of how you're planning to use the space.
When running the shower or tub, please run the vents
CHECK OUT IS AT 12:00PM
Please leave keys on kitchen counter top before you leave, or just give them to me if I'm around
Please dispose of any trash before you leave in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
If there is something that you would prefer not to throw away and would like to leave with me, just let me know
If you need to leave bags with us, until your flight, train, bus or next check-in, please let me know and I will be happy to accomodate you.
We stayed at Brian & Amanda's apartment for nearly 2 weeks - it was a wonderful experience. They are such a lovely, kind, generous couple! They even helped my partner with the secret delivery of my engagement ring! We have absolutely nothing but positivity about our stay. Their home is comfortable & spacious - their rooftop is magical! The area is perfect, close to the train, with so much to do. We also had the pleasure of meeting some of their friends - they were so lovely - which reflects just how great these two people are!
We wish you guys all the best with your future!

Amanda and Brian are a lovely couple, very hospitable. Their apartment is very nice wiith a fantastic roofterrace with an equally fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline! Our room was also very nice with a small balcony of our own which was really nice too. All in all we had a great stay in N.Y.
We spent a full week at Amanda and Brian appartment. What a nice place to live! The room was large and cosy, much place for our stuff and shopping bags :)
Amanda and Brian are really nice, fun and helpful people. We had a great time there. Amanda and Brian recommended a few places for diner and brunch in their neighborhood and we had only good surprises in all these places! I have already recommended the place to friends who are planning to go to NYc in the coming year!
We had a wonderful experience (email hidden) in W'Burg.Brian and Amanda were wonderful hosts and the bedroom was large, light and airy with a comfortable bed. The neighborhood was delightful full of interesting restaurants, a great bagel shop, and a great place for morning coffee. We would especially recommend breakfast on the wonderful roof garden with its views of Manhattan.Highly recommended!
Our experience with Brian and Amanda couldn't have gone any better! Their apartment was easy to find and was everything we needed it to be for the time we were there. They were very friendly and helpful yet we never felt like we were really living in the same apartment with strangers. They definetly gave us the space we needed. Our room and bathroom was very clean and had a lot of space for our belongings. Again our experience couldn't have been better!!

About the Host, Brian And Amanda
Hi new friends!
Brian is a software consultant working from home, and sings in his free time. Amanda is a sociologist in Manhattan and dances in her free time. We are big travelers, love to bike, scuba dive, cook/bake, and go to yoga classes, opera performances, and the theatre; we're fun foodies (mostly chocolate, wine and cheese!) We both have soft spots for Trekies, and absurd British humor. And we love living here in the lovely Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY.
Having hosted since fall 2013, we could not be more happy with our Air BnB experience. We have met some fabulous people who stayed as guests, many of whom we hope to run into again! It's a good practice run for a B&B we dream of owning someday! New York is such a special place, and we're so happy to be a part of folks' magical experience. Brian is almost always available to help folks out with trip planning (something he really enjoys doing!) Amanda loves to cook and bake, and we both love to share if any one needs their belly full.
Bottom line is: New York City is a great city, and Brooklyn is something additionally special, and we're a couple of nerdy, silly people. Come meet us! We really want folks to enjoy themselves while they're here. So, don't hesitate to ask for something!
