The coronavirus has changed everything. Get away and experience the tranquility of nature in a secluded and private glamping cottage. At the edge of our hidden pond, this tiny cottage offers the perfect mix of luxury and nature, providing guests with the time and space to relax, recharge and reconnect. We are conveniently located in St. Charles just minutes from almost anywhere in the St. Louis area.

The space
The tiny A-Frame Cottage is in a private campsite, next to our hidden pond adjacent to the Mississippi River. It features a comfortable queen bed with crisp, clean sheets, comforter, and pillows. It is equipped with 12 volt lighting, a fan, and a drink cooler that doubles as an air conditioner in the summer (it uses ice to cool so it is not a real air conditioner) and is heated heated in the spring and fall. The A-Frame Cottage is just a short walk to our bathroom cabin; clean and with flush toilets and enclosed outdoor showers.

Stay away from the crowds and get back to nature where social distancing comes naturally. Your getaway can include fishing, canoeing on the River, exploring the pond, hiking, bike riding, horse shoes, target practice with our pellet gun, watching the wildlife from your deck, toasting marshmallows around the campfire, or just relaxing in nature.

We are located at the River Island Marina, an eclectic marina and glampground for the modern buccaneer, urban adventurer, or outdoor enthusiast. We offer a unique and convenient place to enjoy Missouri’s great outdoors, the River, and everything St. Louis has to offer.

Things to Note:

The A Frame Cottage is off grid; the lights, fans, and pseudo air conditioner runs off of a battery and solar panel. You will need to bring ice for the air conditioner to work.

After each guest the A Frame is disinfected (fogged) with an EPA registered fungicide, disinfectant, sanitizer, cleaner and deodorizer (RMR 141).

Our Beds - The A Frame's bed has a mattress pad, a hypoallergenic mattress protector and hypoallergenic pillow protectors. Before you arrive we wash and disinfect the sheets, duvet, mattress protector, and pillow protectors in hot water with detergent.

Our Bathrooms - We have two bathrooms in our bathroom cabin. Each of our bathrooms are clean and disinfected at least twice daily. Additionally, disinfectant wipes and solution are available in each bathroom for guest’s use. The bathroom cabin is about 200 feet from the A Frame Cottage.

Our hot water showers are outdoors and adjacent to the bathroom cabin. Each is disinfected.

Cooking - Our outdoor kitchen area features both a gas and charcoal grill for our guests to use. We also have a microwave and gas camp stove. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and drinking water are available in the outdoor kitchen. We recommend that guests bring their own pots and pans; however, we provide disposable (paper and plastic) plates, cups, and eating utensils. All surfaces are disinfected. Additionally, disinfectant wipes are available for guest’s use. The outdoor kitchen is about 200 feet from the A Frame Cottage.

IMPORTANT: Glamping St. Louis is in Missouri’s great outdoors so be prepared to accept the inherent risk of your adventure including wildlife, insects, and unpredictable conditions (we can’t control weather or the River when it floods). Come with an adventurous and open mind, proper clothing, and some bug spray.

THE RIVER - The River occasionally reaches flood stage (generally in the spring) which effects the road into our property. If the road has water on it we can shuttle you in with our truck so your glamping adventure won't be effected.

Guest access
As a guest you will have access to the Marina's 20 acre shore side property which includes our private pond, the Marina's channel to the River, and the Marina's private 40 acre island.

Other things to note
Our glamping camps provide a space to rest before your outdoor (or urban/suburban) adventures, and then to relax and reflect afterwards. We are located at the River Island Marina. You are welcome to bring your kayaks, canoe, fishing boat, pontoon boat, or jet skis (we have a private boat ramp to the River).

As avid sailors we have owned 15 boats and cruised Mexico's Sea of Cortez with our young kids. We have backpacked through Europe and hiked and camped throughout the U.S. Now that the kids are grown, we acquired the River Island Marina and set out to make it a comfortable, family friendly, and trouble free experience for our members and guests. We started Glamping St. Louis with a single glamping tent and have expanded to six unique glamping sites. We have hosted over 200 couples and families from across the country. Our guests come to get away for a weekend, celebrate an anniversary, or are seeking an alternative to staying in a hotel while visiting St. Louis. Some of our guests spend a weekend just sitting on the deck and taking in the natural beauty of our pond or the River. Others visit the many tourist attractions that St. Louis has to offer. We offer a unique experience in nature without the hassle of pitching the tent or sleeping in a wet sleeping bag.
