We are right in the thick of it yet far from the madding crowds.
Our home is friendly, spacious, pristine-clean and comfortable & sometimes awash with music played by vinyl-junkie Ross.
Our doggy Daisy lounges around the house during the day and at night sleeps in the house so everyone is safe and sound. Daisy does not access guest quarters.
Our three-year-old daughter gets around on her trike but promises to always give way at any meetings!
There is ample space in your bedroom for a portacot if you are travelling with a little one. We have a clean, modern Baby Bjorn you are welcome to use.
We have an eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, chemical-free home which is particularly suitable for asthmatics and those with allergies. We buy our supplies locally, compost paper and food scraps, and use only natural products with which to clean and launder.
Please ask us for more information if you'd like to know what we use to clean with.
Ultra-high-speed (fibre optic) wifi is free.
Your private bathroom has a beautiful claw-foot bathtub with a shower attachment.
Your private sunny verandah overlooking the city with a view of Auckland's SkyTower is a great place to have breakfast or just sit and relax.
If you want company, Daisy will most likely join you to soak up the sunshine. Or you are welcome to join our family inside for breakfast.
Your breakfast includes fresh fruit, very yummy, house-made muesli and fresh house-roasted coffee - delicious! Let us know in advance if you would like a special batch of muesli to cater for allergies.

We had a great time in Aukland mainly due to Laura’s family and their Airbnb in Ponsonby.
The house is near the trendy Ponsonby Road, where you can find a lot of nice boutiques, cafés, places to eat and one excellent restaurant. Grey Linn Park which is just around the corner is great for jogging and we enjoyed the walk through it to the centre of Aukland every day. If you don’t feel like walking, you can take the bus which is only a few minutes away.
The guestroom has got a lot of light, a nice view and is very quiet. The bed is very comfortable and we had our own very nicely furnished bathroom. Everything is carefully maintained, very clean and not only the oil for the body in the bathroom is handmade by Laura. Also the very delicious Müsli in the morning is homemade and the breakfast anyway is great and strengthens healthily for the whole day.
Laura and her family are very hospitable and we felt really welcomed. Laura takes her time to make you feel as comfortable as possible. She is helpful and has got a lot of tips not only for Aukland but also for your journey through New Zealand. Our talks in the morning were so pleasant and they could have go on and on... Daisy dog, Elsie the daughter, Russ and last but not least, Laura, are unforgettable and we are very thankful to have discovered this spot in Aukland. We would come back anytime and we highly recommend this place.
Staying with Laura and her family was great. This was our first time staying in a private room in someone's home, and it was a great first experience. Laura and her family were very welcoming and friendly. Our room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. She provided nice soaps and shampoo in the bathroom, which is always nice. The entire family was very hospitable and ensured all of our needs were met. Laura gave us some very good advice on places to eat in the area, and things to do in and around Auckland. She even gave us advice for our trip to Melbourne Australia. Thank you Laura for welcoming us into your home! We appreciate your hospitality!
Laura and her family were perfect host. The house were beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was great, the yogurt and fruits were yummy! Laura always give me fantastic suggestions . Read Laura's personal guide book , you will find the top restaurants and amazing cafe! Love their
taste about life and food. Highly recommend and definitely come back again.
All the best wishes !
We loved our stay with Laura and her family in Auckland. Everything was as we expected and extra special thanks to Laura for not being phased by our 2am arrival and arranging a shuttle bus from and to the airport for us. Ross' muesli was a special breakfast treat and the house was in a quiet, attractive residential area.
It's a reasonably short walk to Ponsonby Road shops and cafes and if you are feeling very fit you can walk into the centre but there are a few hills and there are half hourly buses from the end of the road.
Daisy the friendly dog is always there to welcome you back as well. Highly recommended
Laura and her family are perfect and kind hosts and her house is airy , calm and comfortable , a wonderful way to arrive in NZ after a long flight from the UK. Laura arranged our transfers from the airport , made us a coffee when we arrived and gave us some great suggestions on how to spend our first afternoon so we could try to stay awake and beat the jet lag ! The bed is super comfortable too so we slept really well, and Laura made us a lovely healthy breakfast every morning. The house is in a really charming area of wooden houses by the park and a short walk away from Ponsonby Road with lots of shops and good eating places. We walked into the city and the waterfront in an easy half hour but you can also catch a bus near the house too. A perfect and comfortable place to stay with a warm welcome.
Laura was a wonderful host! We felt so welcome in her house - it felt like staying with friends :) The breakfast was AMAZING! I am lactose intolerant and Laura even made me my own home almond milk (the best I think I have had). The coffee is great and the museli yummy. Would highly recommend.

A Scot, a Kiwi and our cheeky little girl, plus a Daisy dog, living in sunny Auckland after recently returning from overseas. We like travelling, popular culture, food, vinyl records and a wee dram of whiskey, while our daughter prefers duplo and strawberries.
We have been lucky enough to have positive airbnb experiences, staying in clean, comfortable spaces with friendly hosts who give us space. We would like to offer the same to our guests.
