Perfect! We were in the bay area for various family events in Walnut Creek and Concord, and business meetings in San Francisco. Could not have been a better location! The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos. Very clean—spotless!—and very quiet. Although we were aware that someone is living upstairs in the mornings, it was not at all bothersome. We slept very well both nights. Street parking was very easy—we never parked more than one house away on the same side of the street. Lots of great coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Would absolutely stay again. Thank you!
This was our second time staying at Verdant East Bay Retreat and it was like coming home. The garden was absolutely lovely with different flowers and trees blooming in the yard. When we accidentally blew a fuse, Wendy responded immediately and our host graciously came down and took care of it. That was the only small snafu during a wonderful week's stay.
To our delight, Wendy had left a tasty tea bread loaf and some orange juice for our morning pleasure. There was also coffee, cream and a variety of teas available. I actually opted to do a little cooking this time with some fresh items from the farmer's market. The kitchen is very nice and cooking supplies were readily available. Our host also provided local information and suggestions for restaurants, sight-seeing, etc.
The area is beautiful and my husband and I enjoyed walking and driving to explore the area. It's a great place to visit, easily accessible and close to transportation, while maintaining a sense of serenity and a spa like atmosphere. I highly recommend a stay here.
I really loved staying at this sweet and comfy garden apartment. I appreciated the treats in the fridge and the bamboo everything.! Slept like a baby and enjoyed coffee in the garden. Absolutely recommend this spot and would love to come again. One needs a car to get to town spots, but just a ten min. drive gets you into some awesome neighborhoods. Thanks Wendy and Tamar!
The Verdant East Bay Retreat was comfortable and meticulously clean. The garden was absolutely beautiful. It was nice to have coffee available, plus cream, OJ and some breakfast treats in the refrigerator so I didn't have to go out to find breakfast my first morning there. Very convenient. The neighborhood is residential so it is definitely more convenient to have a car, but it would be possible to walk if one is in reasonable physical shape. I would definitely stay there again.
Wendy's place is very nice. It's spacious and the kitchen was nicely equipped for cooking which was great. It was very clean and I also enjoyed the speakers for my ipad/iphone as I had forgotten mine. The outside patio is pretty and Wendy was always responsive when I had questions. Parking was easy as well.
The unit was lovely, clean and quiet and had everything we needed for our (too) short stay. Sitting on the garden patio for morning coffee was delightful. The coffee was delicious and the banana bread, OJ and half & half were wonderful touches that made us feel welcome and special. Easily accessible to San Fran. Many restaurants nearby. HIGHLY recommend staying here
