We stayed at Cindy's apartment in Brooklyn for a week in October 2013 and it was a really lovely stay. The apartment was nice and comfortable and well equipped. The Netflix was just what we needed for the end if the day entertainment. The proximity to public transport was great, literally at our door step. Although wasn't in town to meet us her friends were really lovely people and made us feel welcome. Cindy was available via email for any questions and queries we had and she answered promptly. The neighborhood had much to offer although we were out in the city most times. We unfortunately didn't get to see the roof viewing deck :-( But it didn't take anything away from our stay. We would definitely stay at her apartment in the future. Thanks Cindy.
Lovely apartment and fantastic location. My parents stayed for 6 days at Cindy's apartment in August and really enjoyed being close to Prospect Park, the farmers (email hidden) Plaza and the easy train access.
The apartment is incredibly comfortable and well-taken care of. The fridge stopped working one night and Cindy was incredibly quick at getting someone to take care of it.
The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in too!
The apartment was beautiful and Cindy was a great host. She gave us lots of great recommendations for local restaurants and really wanted to make sure we had a comfortable stay. The roof terrace is amazing, the flat itself is very spacious and modern, and the location was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend to others (in fact I already have!)
Cindy is a phenomenal host, and her flat is beautiful beyond words. It's central location just above Prospect Park and Grand Army Plaza is like stepping through a portal into the heart of Brooklyn. As if that weren't enough, it's private roof-top offers a panorama of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skyline that's simply incredible. And it's all yours to enjoy, with plenty of deck furniture for you and your mates.
Three different train lines are available within a five minute walk, the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens and main park entrance are just across the plaza, and the gastronomical delights in the neighborhood are too numerous and wonderful to believe.
And that's just the beginning. Cindy is as warm and approachable as an old friend; available at a moment's notice whenever you need her. We were there ten days, and after the AC took a beating from an intense heat-wave, Cindy had the problem sorted in less than twelve hours. She was even thoughtful enough to check in every so often to make sure everything was on par and to our liking.
And liking would be an understatement. Her kitchen is sprawling and finely appointed, her record collection vast beyond compare, and her living space ample, comfy and chic. Oh, and if you like movies, the enormous draw-down screen, high-end projector and Bose sound-system is enough to make you swoon.
All told, you'd be crazy to stay anywhere else in Brooklyn. Do yourself a favor and have the Chez Cindy experience. You'll be so glad you did ;)
Everything was GREAT "chez Cindy" !
At our arrival Cindy greeted us warmly, helped with our baggage, and as we were admiring her beautiful apartment, ran downstairs to buy a bottle of wine for us!
The decoration of the apartment was impressive: designer's furniture, a first-class kitchen, superior wi-fi, and a great media system with hi-fi and wall projection Apple TV.
We also found the best coffee we've ever tasted in the United States, and all kinds of goodies in the refrigerator. In the bathroom Cindy left many organic toilet products (smelling so good).
We also enjoyed the magnificent view on the roof-top while having breakfast.
There was just one small problem: during the week the Flatbush
Avenue traffic was a bit noisy at night.
But all in all, our stay was a great experience and we would love to come back another time !
About the Host, Cindy
Im an artist and writer, living and working in Brooklyn NY. I am a painter - and recently I've been traveling a lot to shows of my work, which takes me away from my beloved apartment. Its a beautiful spot - I built much of it myself - and am happy to share all my favorite spots in the neighborhood with you. Happy to answer any questions at all for you.
I love to travel, and am an extremely clean and conscientious house guest, who is happy to provide references, and promises to leave any place in better condition than upon arrival.
