The “Vico del Poeta” is some B&B and some guesthouse: the original idea was to create a place with which satisfy all kinds of request. Long or brief stays, summer vacations or cultural stays for a week end. The main building is located in the historic centre of Assisi and offers to its guests two mini-apartments. The hospitality is characterized by an important component of kindness. Guests know that they can ask for our help in every moment: we are helpful but discreet. The apartments (close to the main square and to all the most important monuments) are in a quiet but suggestive alleyway.
Petra is a studio apartment of 25 square meters recently restructured and thought for a couple: its nicest charateristic is the mixture between the original and ancient structure and contemporary equipments with details of design and art. Cozy and intimate the studio apartment is however completely autonomous. The kitchen corner is equipped with two eletric stoves, refrigerator and everything you need to prepare your meals. The bathroom, builded in a old fireplace has a sink, bidet, toilet and box shower. There is naturally a private entrance to the apartment.
The Vico and its apartments have their strong point being in the same time very close to everything and in the real historical centre but also in a secondary alleyway really intimate and quiet. You feel like at home, an very relaxing home.

Stefano is the perfect host. Even though we only stayed one night in Assisi, his lodging was my favorite of our trip. His welcome started with his offer to pick us up from the train station, which was greatly appreciated. He proceded to introduce us to his very comfortable, cosy flat. Everything was clean and working. The flat is as described and photographed. He leaves a breakfast basket on the doorstep in the morning. I must say the bread and croissant were the best I had on our trip. We were able to leave our luggage with him until we needed to catch our train to Rome late in the afternoon. While he couldn't take us to the train station, he was able to take us to the bus station and even had some spare bus tickets that he generously shared with us.
All and all, Stefanno made our trip, short though it was, to Assisi very memorable. I would love to come back and stay again.
The studio, and Stefano, were wonderful. Stefano picked us up at the train station (which we were not expecting) and dropped us off when we left. He provided us with a sumptuous breakfast every morning, left in a basket outside our door. And the studio room ("Petra") was perfect: The kitchen was well enough equipped for cooking, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The location is unbeatable: a quiet section of the old town, right at the top of the hill, only a few minutes' walk from the central square (Piazza Commune).
This is a lovely, beautifully presented apartment near all the main sights of Assisi. It was a pleasure to stay here and I would happily return. Stefano was very helpful with everything and was always on hand for advice or anything else.
The apartment is cozy and perfect and Stefano is an extraordinary host! He is knowledgeable about Assisi and a really interesting person and conversationalist. First, Stefano went above and beyond when our plans fell through for the night before we were supposed to arrive in Assisi--he allowed us to come a day early, on short notice, and even picked us up at the train station late at night on the day his sister was having a baby. If that weren't enough, the apartment was extremely clean despite our early arrival and had everything we needed for a four night stay. The bed was soft and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water and it was easy to heat the place--you have control of your own temperature, which is nice. It was quiet (the walls are thick) and we slept well. We woke each morning to a thoughtfully composed breakfast--tons of delicious food--delivered to our door. This is wonderful for us because we are allergic to gluten and eggs, so we're tough to feed and it can be hard to find breakfast. This is the first place we've stayed where a host tried hard and succeeded in giving us breakfast that really worked. Also, best price in Assisi. Cheaper than a hotel and with far, far more benefits. I highly recommend Stefano's place!
Stefano's studio in Assisi was incredible. It was our first time using AirBNB and we doubt that any future experience will come close to the one we had. He was very accommodating and even picked us up and took us back to the bus station down the hill(as the train station and Assisi are a small drive from each other). Breakfast served in a cute basket awaiting us at the front door every morning with local favorites and a kitchen stocked with all the necessities for a couple. It was cozy retreat in a beautiful stone-walled oasis. Even the water pressure was amazing- and not to mention the rainfall shower head! We would come back in a heartbeat if we could!
This was our favorite place we stayed the whole trip! Stefano was very welcoming and helped suggest ways to make the most of our time in Assisi (despite the pouring rain)! The whole experience was charming, from the walk to the entrance down a stone alley, to the beautifully renovated interior, and the breakfast basket left on our doorstep the following morning. We would highly recommend this apartment to our friends. Of note: we spent far too long looking for a way to drive up to the apartment before finally parking and walking. It turns out, it is not accessible by road (at least not to non-locals) and it would have saved us a lot of stress if we had realized that earlier. If driving, head towards the castle at the top of Assisi, park after the second turn and then walk a short distance down.
Stefano was a total delight. Picking us up from the station and then taking one of us to the airport. We had a lovely breakfast waiting outside our door every morning and the space itself was comfortable, immaculate and very self contained. The room was also perfectly located for exploring this beautiful place. Highly recommended.

Hi, I'm Stefano and I'm the host of "Il Vico del Poeta", a small guest house in the centre of Assisi, town of peace and magic atmospheres.
It's a long time I wanted to create a place through which share my qualities, using the house, and the unique place where I live as a picture frame. I like to talk with people and discover new point of views coming from the world and I like when I see my guests satisfied for their choice (because I know that I'm part of that choice): in a few words, when I see happy people around me.
I think details make the difference; to make a job with passion probably is not enough but it's the first step in “a well-done job”.
My idea was to keep close what I love (my family, art, my home) exploiting the possibilities offered by the place where I live: in short to create a kindly and familiar way to give hospitality. Added to this I liked the possibility to preserve a place, a historical building full of memories, sharing with people some of those memories. My advice is the free mingling with the local colours, even if for few days or few hours: to be a traveller, not a tourist (because each of us is in his small a traveller).
Assisi has many different and interesting faces: going around without a strict plane, carried away by the maze of streets is the best way to find our self and bringing back home an amazing quietness.
Each person has the possibility to express an own private desire because everything here, including the stone, seems as having an answer, a suggestion for soul.
Here you can enjoy even just look to the sky.
Every word is a whisper and the time seems really rest.
