Interaction with Guests
I like to chat with my guests before they arrive to help them plan their time in San Francisco. But usually, I'm out of town when they are here.
Noe Valley is truly one of the most charming, neighborhoody, safe, and authentic parts of San Francisco -- making it a very desirable place to live today. We have our own darling "downtown" on 24th St: countless cafes, boutiques, restaurants, bakeries, juice bars, wine / cheese / chocolate shops. Check out the farmers' market Sat 8-12. I love going out in SF's hottest places only minutes away and then coming home to my safe and peaceful oasis.
-The J-Church streetcar takes you downtown through Dolores Park and is just two blocks away
- The 24 bus stops at the corner and takes you directly to the Castro, Duboce Triangle, and Pacific Heights
- BART metro is 12-15 minutes walk away; the trainride to the airport is 25 minutes and hip Oakland only 15 minutes
- If driving, 5 minutes to main freeways: highways 101 and 280
- Given the central location, taxis are 3-15 minutes to almost anywhere in the city
- Parking is generally hassle-free in the area
Other Things to Note
I ask that all guests staying at my apartment get a "Verified ID" through AirBNB. It's quite simple and is becoming standard policy:
No pets, no smoking, no outside guests please. Apartment only accommodates 1-2 people max. It is a very quiet building - you'll never hear your neighbors, and they would appreciate the same :)
Michael was a great host. Very accommodating. The lock box was convenient for check in and other details left were very helpful. Really appreciated bottle of wine after traveling. Michael maintained great communication. Apt is very comfy and quiet. The view is amazing. Close to many restaurants and stores. When I needed accommodations for extra nights, Michael was very helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Really enjoyed staying at Michael's place and would definitely do so again. We actually got to meet him and he was friendly, warm and inviting, and a huge help in recommending places to check out locally in Noe Valley and throughout the city as well. Place was exactly as described/pictured in the listing and the bed was super comfy. One of the highlights was definitely that sunset view of the city while looking out his dining room window. Excellent location that's a steal for the price, thanks again for everything!
Great apartment & great location! Michael does a lot to make you feel welcome & gives great tools to explore the neighborhood. Really enjoyed my time here & Michael is one of the best hosts I've had on AirBnB.
As former SF/Bay Area natives, we found Michael's place a delight. It's much like staying at a friend's place with all the personal touches throughout. The view's spectacular, parking a breeze and the neighborhood is one the top in the City. We'd definitely book here again and again!
Michael was a generous and welcoming host, the place was just as depicted in description and photos. Waking up with a view over sunny SanFrancisco is soul-soothing.
The Noe Valley neighborhood is a really nice place for hanging out at the local restaurants and parks. Bordering Noe Valley is "Mission District" which seems like it is the "hippest" place in SF. The location of Michael's place was just what I was looking for, laid back, cute, neat and with the "hip-stuff" within reach.
I was very pleased with the experience. Everything at Michael's was as I expected, and he was very responsive and accommodating when I asked if I could stay a bit longer as I waited for an evening flight. Great place.
About the Host, Michael
I'm a graduate student at Stanford University, lucky enough to live in one of the world's most beautiful cities--San Francisco! I actually study the sharing economy and homesharing (so sites like Airbnb) for my PhD, so the opportunity to actually host myself is a real treat. I think about what makes strangers help one another, and how communities are built.
Since I was a kid, I've always enjoyed hosting people, friends and family alike. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday -- a chance to bring folks together who don't see each other often enough and express gratitude. When friends visit me, I LOVE giving my them recommendations and helping them get to know the real San Francisco. I love when my Airbnb guests ask for similar advice, as there's so much to share!
In San Francisco, I love to spend time outdoors walking and hiking, try new restaurants and bars, and study with some of our amazing yoga and meditation teachers. The weather, good food, and smiling faces everywhere make life generally blissful.
I love to travel. My family is in the NY-NJ area, so I visit them often. Within California, I love to get away to Yosemite for camping or hiking and hotsprings in the mountains north of the city. I've also spent a fair amount of time in India, South America, China, Singapore, S.Africa, Israel, and Western Europe. I love connecting with really different types of people. My life motto: try to see the other in yourself.
