Shared use of bathroom, There's no access to the kitchen but there is a mini fridge and a microwave available in the room.
There's cable TV (Directv) with HBO, 150 channels and Spanish channels (sorry, no porn channels). WI-FI is available for free but there is also a computer connected to the internet for the exclusive use of the guests.
There's no guarantee of privacy outside the bedroom but there's a separate entrance to the room. Guest privacy inside their room is high on our list of things to respect. Also, guests can come in and out of the apartment at any time. We don't have curfews as we are all adults.
Interaction with Guests
I will respond to all inquiries that guests have and, when asked, provide some advice on places to go.
It is a neighborhood with a high density concentration of restaurants and night spots. There's a laundry and a multiplex theater around the corner. Two large supermarkets are three blocks away but there are smaller staples stores within a block from the house. Due to the availability of several forms of transportation it is literally within minutes from Manhattan. There's a ferry to lower Manhattan, trains, buses and taxi bases.
Very convenient public transportation. Within walking distance of the Underground metro (we call it subway), buses to other parts of the borough and to other metro stations. Taxis on the avenue. If the weather is good some guests walk across the Williamsburg bridge to Manhattan. Street parking. Guests can get from the airport to the house by taxi or a combination of bus and train. If coming from Canada or other parts of the US by bus guests usually get to the house by underground metro, usually the A from the bus station to 14th Street and then the L to Bedford Avenue. If using the bus that goes to Chinatown the J train to the Marcy Avenue station is most convenient.
Other Things to Note
Because of its accessibility to the rest of the City and the multiple entertainment venues within it this neighborhood Williamsburg has become the most popular destination to stay for NYC visitors.
But we aim to keep it affordable.
No smoking. No pets (unless it is a girlfriend or boyfriend).
Obed is in a fantastic location and provided us with exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable and we were also provided clean towels. There was a fridge and a tv with cable in the room. Obed let us come and go as we pleased just as long as we locked the doors. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks obed!
The apartments location is PERFECT. Mr. Obed was very nice and helpful when we needed. The room is large and wifi works pretty good. He gave us the key of the room and we didn't have access to the rest of the apartment, so we could come and go at anytime without disturbing his family. Comfortable beds, TV and privacy, we had a very nice stay.
Although I’m a very frequent traveler, staying in Obed’s apartment was my first time using Airbnb. I can positively say it was a great experience, and I would never consider anywhere else in NYC so long as he has availability.
The room is exactly as it’s pictured and described. It’s not a 5-star hotel, but it is as clean and well-maintained as you could possibly hope for in a lived-in home. For the rate he charges, the VALUE is OUTSTANDING. Check-in was simple, requiring no more than showing up at the home at the time I said we’d be there. Getting the keys and being shown to the room took no more than two or three minutes.
The apartment is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home shared between Airbnb guests and Obed’s brother. We had full privacy in our bedroom, only interacting with his brother if he happened to be watching television in the living room when we were coming or going from the apartment. The interactions we did have were very pleasant, and he is a very friendly, kind person. Definitely respectful of privacy, and if it wasn’t for the fact that he sometimes is sitting in the living room, we’d have never known he was there. Although we spent four nights in the apartment we never used the kitchen, but it appeared perfectly fine if you plan to prepare a small snack or meal.
The location is absolutely amazing, the home sitting just steps from Bedford Avenue. There is no shortage of small shops and grocery stores, restaurants, and nightlife within a few minutes’ walk from the building. The subway is less than half of a mile from the home, and I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood at any hour of the day or night. As far as exploring the city, Manhattan is literally one subway stop away. Thanks to the L line’s route and location, it takes less time to get to most points in Manhattan from here than it would if you were actually staying on the island.
All-in-all, staying in Obed’s home was a great experience. The neighborhood was lively and vibrant, and if you’re staying anywhere else in New York City you’re simply throwing your money away.
This Place is in a very convenient part of brooklyn. williamsburg offers bars, markets, subway-stations, laundry-facilities and much more you might need. We saw Obed and his family very rarely because we were all day out sightseeing. But when we met they were always very friendly and helpful. The apartment is very good for 2 persons and quiet to sleep. An ideal start for a journey to manhatten.
Obed is a very friendly and helpful host. We spent two nights at his place in Williamsburg, very close to Bedford Abenue, the heart of Williamsburg. Obed lives on the ground floor. The room is one floor up in the apartment of Obed's brother. The room is spacious, quite clean and provided with a well working air conditioner and a large TV. The rest of the apartment is a little bit crammed and the internet doesn't work all the time unfortuately. But all in all I would recommend the place if you want to expericence the amazing Williamsburg.
Great staying with Obed's brother in Williamsburg. Very easy going, quiet and accommodating. We only met Obed once to check out but he was available on the phone for us. Flexible Check-in and Check-out times which was really good for us. Overall it is a simple room which offers everything you need in a great location!
We stayed at Obed apartment for 11 days. Obed gave us a warm welcome and was able available to answer any of our questions. Williamsburg is a very hip beautiful neighborhood and the apartment is located very close to Bedford Av, where you can find a lot of places to eat and bars. The apartment is also located very close to Bedford Av Station of the L train. The bedroom has been recently painted and now has a new flat screen tv. The bedroom and the bathroom were clean but the kitchen was a bit cluttered that was okay though because we only used the fridge to keep some fruit and water. The AC works really well. We always had clean towels and bedsheets available. The only minor problem that we had was that our last 2 days we did not have WiFi access because Obed changed his router and it was not able to connect properly with ours but Im sure that this is just temporary and now they have resolved it. Moreover, Obeds brother was very nice and allowed us to use his internet connection when we needed to check our bus tickets information.
