Interaction with Guests
Colin and Linda will greet you on arrival and show you to your cabana. You will be shown a map of the island and the lay of the land. Colinda Cabanas is located in a quiet serene area of the island. The edge of town is a short 5 minute stroll down the beach. Many guests take tours off-site and go snorkeling, fishing or kayaking. However many guests just love to hang out on our pier, read a good book, go swimming and enjoy the ambiance.
We are located about a 5 minute walk from the nearest store or restaurant. Or 2 minutes by bicycle.
Our exact location on Caye Caulker is as follows:
From the 2 water taxi piers located on the front of the island ; step off the end of the pier, take a left and walk 10 minutes South along the beach. We are just past the Anchorage Resort.
From the airport : Walk 400 feet to the beach. Turn left and walk North along the beach for 3 minutes.
From the back (water jets) pier walk 50 yards to middle street, turn right and walk 10 minutes along middle street.
Middle street dead-ends at our property.
If you arrive tired or with a pile of luggage; taxis charge U.S. $2.50 per person and only take a few minutes to get to our place.
Other Things to Note
Regional Disclaimer: The island of Caye Caulker is in the coastal Caribbean / tropical region of Belize. While this provides incredible beauty and natural wonders from sky to sea, it also means that, heat, humidity, sudden tropical squalls and power outages are common occurrences.
Living on a beach surrounded by jungle also means an abundance of Geckos, Iguanas, ants, and land crabs.
Occasionally sand flies and mosquitoes can also be problematic.
That said, we do everything we can to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant.....
Welcome to Colinda Cabanas !

Thank you for being our guests
Everything was fine. The cabana is very cozy and Colin and Linda are great host helping you whenever you need. Two free bicycles to use around the island.
Our hosts were very nice about getting us into our rental early since we had been traveling through the night. Our cabana was exactly what I expected from the pictures. The room was nice and clean and had all the basics. It's in a a quiet part of the island but still just a short walk/bike ride to the main part of town. I really enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and we weren't bothered by a lot of the "salespeople" that seem to frequent the docks closer to town. Having the kayaks and snorkel gear to use was a big plus! Collin was very helpful in giving us tips on where to snorkel and where to kayak. I definitely feel that our hosts were knowledgeable about the area and feel confident that they could have answered any questions that we may have had. Linda suggested restaurants for us to try and helped arrange a taxi to the ferry for us. So helpful! I've been to the island 3 times now and this was my favorite area/hotel to stay at. Next time I visit this will be the first place I check for a vacancy!
During our stay, my husband and I worked with Juan directly. He gave us information on Caye Caulker, provided recommendations, and welcomed us to our cabana. The location was great—everything was a 10-20 minute walk. The cabana fits 2 comfortably—it notes that it can fit 3 people, but that seems a little tight for me. The cabana was perfect for us, as we spent most of our time enjoying the island so the room was used for sleeping and showering. We loved having drinking water, bikes, snorkeling gear, and beach towels available at any time—it really made the stay and packing more comfortable for us. Thanks again, Juan!
We stayed in cabana 5 for 5nights. It was the perfect start to our holiday. our own little haven, but close enough to everything. We were warmly welcomed and continously received good information. The two bikes that are provided are very useful. The cabana was beautiful as is caye caulker. Recommended.
Great hosts and fantastic little beach side Cabana, I would stay again for sure. Lots of included benefits like your own bike, snorkel gear and beach towels.
The Colinda Cabanas!
We ended up staying in #6, which was a tidy little thing. Housekeeping was great, stopping by to turn down the beds and sweep the floors every day. Juan welcomed us with a smile and we felt like we'd known him forever. Our first day, he loaded us down with where to visit, what to do, and all of that. We would definitely advise sticking with their recommended water taxi service--Caye Caulker Water Taxis--as opposed to the other one (San Pedro-Belize Express, who stuck us on a speedboat on our return trip; my spine is still screaming about that one!)
Sit in the hammocks all day long and take a dip off the pier! Colinda met our expectations and then some. They definitely seemed like the nicest cabanas on the island, and it sat us right at the edge of the "main drag," which allowed us easy bike access to restaurants, while still hanging out with the locals (the kids next door are brilliant and charming!!!)
Hope to be back soon!
We loved staying at Colinda's! Colin was very helpful and kind. We arrived early and were able to stow our luggage and explore the island while our room was being cleaned. He provided free bikes, which made exploring so much more fun. He gave us a map and recommended restaurant options, and all his recommendations were delicious! He also provided 2 kayaks, first come first served, so we were able to morning kayak for a couple of hours around the island on our last morning - beautiful and relaxing. The cabanas are clean, adorable, and have a nice little bathroom/shower. We couldn't have enjoyed our experience more. This comes highly recommended!

About the Host, Colinda
We (Colin and Linda) are from the Okanagan/Shuswap areas of British Columbia, Canada. We now call Lillooet B.C. and Caye Caulker, Belize our home. We were looking for a life-style change (needed paying jobs) and purchased this small beachfront resort in late January 2011. We spent the last year fixing it up and are now starting to enjoy Island living.
We welcome your visit to our little spot in paradise.
