Interaction with Guests
Colin and Linda will greet you on arrival and show you to your cabana. You will be shown a map of the island and the lay of the land. In the event that Colin + Linda are away in Canada; Juan our manager and his wife Emilita will be your hosts. A staff member is always on-site to answer your questions or concerns. We also have a night time watchman.
Colinda Cabanas is located in a quiet serene area of the island. The edge of town is a short 5 minute stroll down the beach. Many guests take tours off-site and go snorkeling, fishing or kayaking. However many guests just love to hang out on our pier, read a good book, go swimming and enjoy the ambiance.
We are located about a 5 minute walk from the nearest store or restaurant. Or 2 minutes by bicycle.
Our exact location on Caye Caulker is as follows:
From the 2 water taxi piers located on the front of the island ; step off the end of the pier, take a left and walk 10 minutes South along the beach. We are just past the Anchorage Resort.
From the airport : Walk 400 feet to the beach. Turn left and walk North along the beach for 3 minutes.
From the back (water jets) pier walk 50 yards to middle street, turn right and walk 10 minutes along middle street.
Middle street dead-ends at our property.
If you arrive tired or with a pile of luggage; taxis charge U.S. $2.50 per person and only take a few minutes to get to our place.
Other Things to Note
Regional Disclaimer: The island of Caye Caulker is in the coastal Caribbean / tropical region of Belize. While this provides incredible beauty and natural wonders from sky to sea, it also means that, heat, humidity, sudden tropical squalls and power outages are common occurrences.
Living on a beach surrounded by jungle also means an abundance of Geckos, Iguanas, ants, and land crabs.
Occasionally sand flies and mosquitoes can also be problematic.
That said, we do everything we can to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant.....
Welcome to Colinda Cabanas !

Best holiday experience ever, I really mean it as frequent traveler. Linda and Colin are perfect hosts and couple, they are very helpful and always with smiles on their face. You can feel that they love the place and love to host and talk to people. There are many subtle details that makes place perfect. Besides having and authentic Cabana experience you get lot of information about locals, water keg, sunbath cream, hammocks, bicycles, bottle opener, aloe tree and much more. Oh I forgot about plenty crabs and geckos around :) It is very far away from my home and I do not tend to visit places twice as there are so many of them around the world, but here I will probably make exception as It was exceptional experience.
Our hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the island. Colin and his staff were also very helpful. The cabanas were exactly what we were looking for and offered a great way to authentically experience Caye Caulker. The accommodations were clean, very well kept, and they offered some great additional amenities like bikes for getting around on the island. We would happily return and book here again in a heartbeat.
My husband and I were very happy with our stay with Colinda. She was very friendly and welcomed us warmly with information about the island and where to go for food and services. We loved our cabana, it had everything we needed from coffee in the morning to fans to keep us cool at night. We were on Caye Caulker during the busiest weekend of the year (Easter) and It was fun to go to where the action was and than come home to the quiet end of the island. Everything about the property was clean and well tended. The pier was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting both in the sun and under the shade of the cabana at the end swinging in the hammocks. The best part might have been the bikes that are included with the stay. We had a great time biking everywhere and enjoyed the novelty of having no cars to dodge, just golf carts.
Linda and Colin are great friendly hosts! The cabana was charming with the right amount of amenities, secure (there is a safe in the room and security person at night), and short distance to downtown (enough for solitude without being far of the action).
We particularly liked the pier with chairs and hammocks (so resting at night), great plus that bikes, snorkel gear and kayaks were all included! Other places charge for this...
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Colinda's. Linda was extremely helpful, offering us restaurant and activity suggestions; and she was always around if we needed her. Their dock is one of the best on Caye Caulker! Between 3 - 5:30pm is the best time to dip in the ocean to cool off and grab your hammock to swing away the heat. I would stay there again in a heart beat - and really appreciated the cleanliness of our cabana! Both myself and my grandma couldn't have been happier with our stay at Colinda's. Thank you!!
Staying at Colinda's felt like I was staying in Paradise. The hammock on the porch was a perfect way to wind down after a day in the sun and heat. Linda and Colin were super friendly and very informative. Will definitely be back and bringing friends or family next time!

We (Colin and Linda) are from the Okanagan/Shuswap areas of British Columbia, Canada. We now call Lillooet B.C. and Caye Caulker, Belize our home. We were looking for a life-style change (needed paying jobs) and purchased this small beachfront resort in late January 2011. We spent the last year fixing it up and are now starting to enjoy Island living.
We welcome your visit to our little spot in paradise.
