I booked Luca's place for my bridal party of 11 people, and didn't stay there myself. My friends told me Luca was a wonderful host, taking them into Camucia for the best priced groceries and touring them around the fortress and monastery. They thought the house was fantastic with character and great views. The main house features three bedrooms and one pull-out couch. Three additional bedrooms were in annexes external to the house.
Those staying in the main house thoroughly enjoyed their stay, but those in the annexes were very cold at night, so it might be best to stick to the main house in winter. Also, the annex furthest away from the villa had a major insect infestation. Guests in that annex had to beat 100-150 ants out of their suitcase and clothes, and found many centipedes and millipedes in the room. To Luca's credit, however, none of the guests let him know about this during their stay, so he couldn't fix the problem.
In general, a lovely main house with problematic annexes, and a generous host.
Luca's house was wonderful. Great view. Lots of steps and a huge hill but worth it for the amazing view! Wifi was good. Luca arranged a fabulous wine tour and an amazing dinner at the house. We stayed here with our family for our wedding and more than enough space for all 8 of us. Luca even did our laundry for us.
Luca arranged for a taxi to meet us at the railway station which was a great help but unfortunately we never got to meet our host. There's plenty of room for four in this charming, rustic apartment. The view from the spacious balcony across the plain to the far hills and lake is breathtaking. Be aware that the walk back from Cortona town centre is a steep 10-15 min climb. The various church bells seem to peal at random times which adds to the charm. The garden is terraced and has some secret corners. We were not sure what to do with rubbish, the operation of the microwave was a mystery and we couldn’t find any cleaning materials. This didn’t spoil the holiday but could help future guests if addressed. Thanks for a special time Luca and Rosa.
Really nice place with a perfect view. The garden is so italian ! Nothing modern in the apart, but it goes with the style. Spacious place and the host is super nice (his mom too)! Small thing: The soundproofing of the master bedroom could be more accurate, we hear the television downstair has if it was and the room...
Great apartment in the upper historical part of Cortona. It was clean, nice furnished and the view is spectacular. The only minus is that in one of the bedrooms you hear quit loud what is said in the apartment below. But that's really the only thing. Luca is very nice and helpfull. I can really recommend this beautiful place to stay.
Great place to stay, very homely with lovely peaceful views from the terrace over the valley and out to lake Trasimeno. Luca was very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely return.
