Interaction with Guests
Colin and Linda will greet you on arrival and show you to your cabana. You will be shown a map of the island and the lay of the land. In the event that Colin + Linda are away in Canada; Juan our manager and his wife Emilita will be your hosts. A staff member is always on-site to answer your questions or concerns. We also have a night time watchman.
Colinda Cabanas is located in a quiet serene area of the island. The edge of town is a short 5 minute stroll down the beach. Many guests take tours off-site and go snorkeling, fishing or kayaking. However many guests just love to hang out on our pier, read a good book, go swimming and enjoy the ambiance.
We are located about a 5 minute walk from the nearest store or restaurant. Or 2 minutes by bicycle.
Our exact location on Caye Caulker is as follows:
From the 2 water taxi piers located on the front of the island ; step off the end of the pier, take a left and walk 10 minutes South along the beach. We are just past the Anchorage Resort.
From the airport : Walk 400 feet to the beach. Turn left and walk North along the beach for 3 minutes.
From the back (water jets) pier walk 50 yards to middle street, turn right and walk 10 minutes along middle street.
Middle street dead-ends at our property.
If you arrive tired or with a pile of luggage; taxis charge U.S. $2.50 per person and only take a few minutes to get to our place.
Other Things to Note
Regional Disclaimer: The island of Caye Caulker is in the coastal Caribbean / tropical region of Belize. While this provides incredible beauty and natural wonders from sky to sea, it also means that, heat, humidity, sudden tropical squalls and power outages are common occurrences.
Living on a beach surrounded by jungle also means an abundance of Geckos, Iguanas, ants, and land crabs.
Occasionally sand flies and mosquitoes can also be problematic.
That said, we do everything we can to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant.....
Welcome to Colinda Cabanas !

Keep your towels fresh by hanging outside to dry.
To avoid bugs - keep food items tightly sealed in bags and containers and remove garbage from your room at night.

Please do not bring island dogs back to the property.
No Unregistered guests allowed anywhere on the property.

Thank you for being our guests
The experience at Colinda's was very good for us. Linda was extremely helpful and answered all the questions we had, and also at times went out of her way to ensure we got what we needed.
The room was clean, and comfortable, even without air conditioning. Added bonuses were bikes included, coffee in the room, and a beautiful dock with hammocks!
Would definitely stay again.
Caye Caulker is THE island to visit in Belize. Colinda's Cabanas is tucked away on North side of the island where we enjoyed access to a very clean room, swimming, hammocks and tables on the dock, canoes and quality bicycles. Our cabana was equipped with fresh coffee beans, coffee maker, basic need dishes, soap and shampoo, lots of fans, lots of drinking water and a fridge. It was tastefully decorated, bright and happy. We loved our 2 nights here and enjoyed biking around the island. On site managers Juan and Emilita were professional, friendly and even shared some of their mosquito spray with us. There was recycling and community sun screen available. A superb experience! Colinda's is a must. It's a nice refuge 10 minutes from the main strip to which you will enjoy returning after an active day of exploring and snorkeling!
Had an amazing time at the colinda cabanas. They where more than helpful showing us where to go on the island. We even decided to stay an extra night because we enjoyed it so much. Out of all the places we saw on the island we were so happy to have picked colinda cabanas! Very clean and beautiful!
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Colinda's Cabanas. Colin and Linda were out of town when we were there but had left Juan in charge to take care of us and the property. Juan was an incredible host and very helpful with any questions we had about tours or things to do on the island. The rooms were very well kept and freshened up daily, and the property always looked nice. One afternoon Juan offered to cut us down a couple of coconuts to try from one of the trees on the property! Having the bicycles available to use was quite nice and we enjoyed being able to go out in the water on the kayaks. We loved Caye Caulker very much and I'm sure we will return, and will definitely book with them again!
We absolutely loved our stay at Colinda's! Our room was so clean and nicely decorated. Spent a lot of time out on the dock, which was perfect for laying in the sun, and for having drinks in the evening. The free bikes were great for riding around the island. Colin and Linda were great hosts! Too many good things to say about this place :)
A FABULOUS place to stay! Far enough away from the main street for peace and quiet. We were provided bicycles for easy and quick access all over the island. We LOVED staying here. We were well taken care of. Linda and Colin were friendly and easy to talk to. The cabana was just right for our needs - clean, cozy, and cute. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our little cabana! It was super clean, close to whatever we needed, and the guests were more than helpful. After traveling the entire island, we believe Colinda's to be the best, most affordable lodging. Thanks Colin and Linda for all the helpful suggestions and friendly approach.

We (Colin and Linda) are from the Okanagan/Shuswap areas of British Columbia, Canada. We now call Lillooet B.C. and Caye Caulker, Belize our home. We were looking for a life-style change (needed paying jobs) and purchased this small beachfront resort in late January 2011. We spent the last year fixing it up and are now starting to enjoy Island living.
We welcome your visit to our little spot in paradise.
