This is a large and well-appointed historic home on a quiet residential street, yet steps from Washington Square's shops, restaurants, and the "T". All rooms generously sized. Study, family room off the kitchen, TV room, 2 decks, large yard.
This is a historic home in Washington Square, Brookline. We are steps to two "T" lines and less than 2 miles from the city of Boston. Washington Square has 15+ restaurants, fun pubs, ice cream shop, groceries, and more. We are making available two floors, about 3,500 sq. feet, 3+ bedrooms, 2.5 baths including a recently renovated Master bath, gorgeous country kitchen with a gas fireplace, TV Den, two decks, 3 working fireplaces, vegetable garden, study, mudroom. Two bedrooms have a queen bed, one has twin bed and an extra "trundle" mattress. We are a family of four, children ages 17 and 13.
Very private yet steps to transportation, restaurants, and so on. Very walk-able neighborhood.
Guests can use the 1st and 2nd floor of the house. The 3rd floor we occasionally rent as an 'apartment', but it is self-contained and private. Those guests do not have access to the rest of the house.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood, very walkable. Steps from Washington Square, which is known for its many restaurants, bars, and other conveniences. Within a 5-10 minute walk are beautiful parks, tennis courts, playgrounds. Two miles from Back Bay and the heart of Boston.
Everything walkable. We are a 5 minute walk from the "Green Line" on the T (C-Line) and 10 minute walk from the D-Line. 15 mins. to downtown on the T.
Other Things to Note
- Parking for one car and possibly two.
- Note that A/C is window units in the two of the bedrooms. There is not central air.
- The 3rd floor we occasionally rent as an 'apartment', but it is self-contained and private. Those guests do not have access to the rest of the house.
This is a large and well appointed home. It is not meant as a gathering space for large groups or parties.
I run a small consulting company focused on the mobile communications industry. I am also a published author of guidebooks for runners.
My wife Jennifer is an educator, and we have two children, ages 12 and 16 who are busy with music, theater, and other school activities.
