Interaction with Guests
We try to welcome all our arriving guests in person to hand-over the key and answer any questions you might have, but depending on your arrival time we might both be working and unable to meet you. In this case we can arrange to leave a key out with directions and be available on the phone should you run into any trouble. We are happy to have as little or as much interaction as you prefer. Low-key suits us fine but we have, on occasion, been known to end up at the local pub or on forest hikes with guests.
North Hobart is the local heart of Hobart. The 1962 redbrick apartment building "Northtown Apartments" sits right on Hobart’s Main Street - Elizabeth Street - just one block up from the humming restaurant and boutique shopping strip which is North Hobart: the locals' locality.

Elizabeth Street features two fantastic pubs, great coffee boutique shops and an abundance of eating options including Japanese, Turkish, Indonesian, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian and Modern European.

When you are here, you must see:
MONA - With its ever changing smorgasbord of inspiring and challenging art. Catch a bus from Salamanca wharf, or the ferry for a more iconically Hobart experience;
Salamanca - At night for fine imbibing, its sandstone silhouette is impossible to resist. During the daytime, take in the yacht-lined port, dotted with Antarctic icebreakers. Browse the endless galleries and shops. For humming shopping, check out the Salamanca Markets on Saturday 8am-3pm;
Farm Gate Markets - To see the locals at play and eat delicious local treats, walk down Elizabeth Street, to Bathurst St corner on Sunday 8.30am-1pm.
Forests - Tasmania holds the most ancient and moving old-growth forests in the world. Hire a car and drive just over an hour from the city to start experiencing these prehistoric treasures. Our favourite is The Styx Valley (maps provided).
Please treasure our little Pocketspace. It's a quiet building and the neighbours are residents, so we ask you respect their living space and be noise aware. The flat will one day be for our son Oscar (now a 4 year old), so please help us preserve it for him.
No smoking or pets.
But the biggest rule: Have fun and enjoy your adventure in Hobart!
We love Hobart, and we hope you will too! x
Beautiful space, fantastic furniture and decoration but most importantly the best hosts ever!
We had a fantastic time at the pocket space! Very well located - a very short walk to the restaurant strip. Molly was wonderful and so helpful. We would defiantly stay again! Thanks for having us :)
We loved Pocketspace, this apartment is tastefully furnished and had an awesome artistic feel. Pocketspace is well stocked in order to make you at home. The location is also great and Hill St IGA is just up the road and they stocked HQ local and organic produce.
Very welcoming. Good communication and information. Pocket Space is cute and comfy. Close to great food, coffee and entertainment.
Hi Jonathan and Jacqui, Thanks for staying and the feedback on Pocketspace. We'll definitely add some more photos of the entrance to the listing to make arrival more straightforward when we can't meet guests in person. We don't provide fresh towels for each day as we think of Airbnb more as a homestay arrangement rather than a hotel (hence the cheaper rate), however I should mention this in the listing description so people know what they're up for. I hope you managed to explore the opp-shop suggestions I sent through :-) Hope to see you again in Hobart. Cheers, Molly
Really enjoyed our stay at Pocketspace, Molly was flexible with the time we arrived and made sure we had all the supplies needed for a cosy stay and after meeting followed up with an email of recommendations for us (much appreciated!)
The space itself is so charming and well thought out, we had everything we needed in terms of kitchenwares etc we wouldn't have gotten in a hotel.
Its also super cute!
If we were in Hobart again we wouldn't hesitate to stay again at Pocketspace.
Thanks again Molly, Andy and Oscar (:
Pocketspace was perfect for our stay in Hobart. The studio style flat is very comfortable and impeccably clean. The style and vibe is warm and welcoming and the size is perfect for a couple or one person. Accessing the flat went smoothly, and we had no problems during our stay. Molly made us feel very welcome and even gave us a call to check that everything was good. Location is great, not very far from the centre and with Elizabeth st itself bustling and full of great places to eat and drink. Overall, we had a really good experience, and would highly recommend it for anyone staying for a few nights in Hobart.
Our stay at Pocketspace was great! The apartment is very well located, just a short walk to the eateries and bars on Elizabeth Street. The apartment came with a free parking spot which made life easy. The decor is charming and very comfortable. As Hobart can get very cold, the apartment was more than equipped with heaters and lots of blankets. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Molly in person, but pick up of keys was no fuss. Correspondence with her was always quick and easy! We would definitely stay again!
