Suzanne and Dave are easy-going people, inviting you into their lovely home nestled in the trees. There was a private room and bathroom, a view of the hills and forest nearby from the sofa, hiking trails within walking distance, and deer walking through the backyard in the morning. Take time to meditate sitting near the stream running along the backyard--very relaxing and peaceful place.
Dave greeted us and showed us our room for the night and we met Suzanne also when she arrived home. We relaxed nearby on the creek before going to Ellensburg for dinner (about a 10 minute drive). The bed was very comfortable and the space very quiet for a nice rest before our next travel day.
My friend and I needed a place to stay after a concert at the Gorge Amphitheater. It was an easy drive to and from. The place we stayed was clean and quiet! Suzanne was a wonderful host. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
After a long day on the road with temperatures in th high 90's, it was a relief to be greeted by Dave and offered cooling refreshments. Dave was welcoming and hospitable, the room was lovely and the bed - we slept like logs. The hot coffee at 6:30 the next morning made it a perfect stay. Thank-you!
Suzanne's and Dave's house in Ellensburg is a true gem. It was immaculately clean and absolutely beautiful. Our room was very nice, but we really enjoyed the rest of the house, porch, and yard as well. If you can stay up late enough, words can't describe the sight of the night sky from the backyard with the sound of a babbling stream nearby.
Unfortunately, Suzanne and Dave were out of town when we visited, but they got in touch with us well ahead of time to make sure we could check in properly. They even ground us coffee! They were very responsive by text. As for the surrounding area, we were able to grab dinner at one of the local diners, and it seemed like there were several other food choices 10-15 minutes away from the house.
We only stayed for a night during our drive down to Mt. Rainier from the North Cascades, but we would have very much liked to stay longer.
Suzanne accommodated me on short notice and provided a wonderful and most interesting place to stay. You can read or lounge right by the creek. It is a very rural location. Learned a bit about recycling that i didn't know. An excellent stay.
This was a quiet, country setting. Be sure you get directions from the hostess.
