The Space

In the 50's the house belonged to the legendary Ely Culbertson- father of American Contract Bridge, the wildly popular game in the mid 20th century. The beautiful wood-paneled walls, hardwood floors, view of our gardens, full bath, tasteful decor and a modern kitchen area make this space unique, welcoming and warm. Internet and cable TV are provided.

Guest Access

It is a fully equipped apartment with kitchen, bathroom, own entrance and parking.

Interaction with Guests

The owners live next door, so while there is complete privacy with your own entrance and parking we are also right there for any problems or questions or if you just want to join us for a beverage or a BBQ in the garden.

The Neighborhood

It's a very good location, near major thoroughfares yet secluded and quiet. Everything is close to here, but the same time it feels like you live in the forest. Steps away from the Brattleboro Farmers' Market, activities at Living Memorial Park, minutes from downtown Brattleboro.

Getting Around

There is a small bus regional bus. The house, while in a quiet spot, is very close to the major thoroughfares of Rt. 9 and I-91. It is within walking distance to recreation facilities (swimming pool, tennis, softball fields, hiking and picnicking) and also you can walk to shopping and dining. It is a pleasant 20-minute walk to downtown Brattleboro. There is also a taxi service in Brattleboro.

Other Things to Note

I allow pets. So if you have allergies my place is not for you.
