Farm house built in 1904 sits on almost two acres, quiet setting. Minutes away from Healdsburg wine country and a Regional Park for hiking. Features two bedrooms (each rented separately). Bedroom one (double) with attached bath, bedroom two (queen) with bath in hallway.
This dog friendly country farm house built in 1904 sits on private fenced in 2 acres. A close 5 min. drive to the Windsor town green where every Thursday evening in the summer there is a farmers market and a featured local band.
The town of Healdsburg is a short 10 min.drive north on 101. A quaint little town (as are all the towns in Sonoma County) full of gourmet restaurants, wine tasting: the town square is surrounded by chic owner operated markets and novelty stores. Wine country (north, east) starts here and no matter which directions you take you will encounter more wineries than one can visit in a day. Lake Sonoma is 15 min. east of Healdsburg where fishing, boating, hiking and picnicking are available. All in all there are 4 lakes within a 1 1/2 hour drive.
The Sonoma coast is a 25 min. drive east thru picturesque windy country roads. You can drive Highway 1 in either directions heading south to Gualala or north to Stinson beach. On your way to the coast you might want to stop in Guerneville to visit the Armstrong National forest, a must see for any visitor.
Heading south on our 101 freeway is Sausalito a 45 min. drive (a small town on the bay) and another 15 min south brings you to San Francisco!
The bedrooms are located downstairs. One having its own bathroom attached (double bed) the other bedroom (queen) has a bathrrom down hallway. Note: these rooms are rented seperately. Very private as our bedroom is upstairs and do not use the hallway bathroom. We also have a private self-contained cottage behind our home that is listed under "Cottage on Farm House Setting."
Interaction with Guests
Our guests are welcome to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and head on their way, or gather their own eggs (in our chicken coup) and make a country breakfast before they get on the road. The back deck is the perfect way to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or the front deck to watch the sunset.
Neighborhood is very quiet. You cannot see another house where ever you look.
Car is the most common type of travel, but bring your bike as there are plenty of off road and street riding available.
Great visit to Windsor at Mark and Jeri's home they made us feel very welcome. The room was exactly like the pictures and comfortable. We enjoyed our short stay.
We had an amazing weekend at Mark and Jeri's. We had originally booked a room in their house but when we arrived we saw that the guest house behind the main house was available so we took that instead. The "chicken coop" was perfect for us.
Mark and Jeri's home and property are so nice...quiet, serene and very beautiful. We felt so comfortable and so welcomed and slept better than we have in ages.
The region is fantastic, a real outdoor enthusiasts playground. We had a great kayak on the Russian River and loved biking around the area. There are countless wineries to explore and excellent restaurants and breweries all throughout the region.
And on top of all that, eating fresh eggs from their free range chickens and playing with their dogs Marley and Rico made the weekend even better than we could have imagined. We can't wait to come back. Thanks so much Mark and Jeri.
Perfect farm house and private room with en-suite bathroom, off the beaten path in Windsor, CA. We easily Uber'd up to Healdsburg for an event during our visit. Mark and Jeri were more than accommodating to us and our little dog. Highly recommend!
Mark and Jeri's house provided the perfect setting for a getaway weekend from San Francisco. We picked our own eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop and enjoyed the company of their friendly dogs as we sipped coffee on the porch. While the hosts weren't there during our stay, they made sure we were well taken care of. The house is also in close proximity to downtown Windsor, which has several great dining options.
Excellent Stay! Very cool location in a wonderful house. We (party of 2 + dog) appreciated the fresh air and the proximity to interesting towns like Healdsburg and Petaluma. Although Mark and Jeri were out of town, their son was around to take care of us. This is a dog-friendly AirBnB and they have some pets of their own. Their 2 dogs are super friendly and just want to play ball!
Mark and Jery talked to us abou t their community, their work... Took us to see the garden, chickens... Introduced us to their dogs...
Mark and Jeri were wonderfully supportive and flexible with our crazy schedules. They gave us the freedom to come and go as we pleased, but were also available to chat, provide helpful advice, and fresh breakfast when we were stahving. :)
This is a really good jumping off point to see the wineries in Sonoma or chillin out in wine country. Their dogs are also super sweet. Check out winery apps to get additional discounts (no tasting fee, etc).
