Farm house built in 1904 on two acres, quiet setting, large deck in back. Featuring two bedrooms. One bedroom with bath attached, the other with a bathroom in hallway. Sleeps 4. Healdsburg wine country 10 minutes away. Short walk to Windsor Regional Park for hiking.
This dog friendly country farm house built in 1904 sits on private fenced in 2 acres. A close 5 min. drive to the Windsor town green where every Thursday evening in the summer there is a farmers market and a featured local band.
The town of Healdsburg is a short 10 min.drive north on 101. A quaint little town (as are all the towns in Sonoma County) full of gourmet restaurants, wine tasting: the town square is surrounded by chic owner operated markets and novelty stores. Wine country (north, east) starts here and no matter which directions you take you will encounter more wineries than one can visit in a day. Lake Sonoma is 15 min. east of Healdsburg where fishing, boating, hiking and picnicking are available. All in all there are 4 lakes within a 1 1/2 hour drive.
The Sonoma coast is a 25 min. drive east thru picturesque windy country roads. You can drive Highway 1 in either directions heading south to Gualala or north to Stinson beach. On your way to the coast you might want to stop in Guerneville to visit the Armstrong National forest, a must see for any visitor.
Heading south on our 101 freeway is Sausalito a 45 min. drive (a small town on the bay) and another 15 min south brings you to San Francisco!
The bedrooms are located downstairs. One having its own bathroom attached, the other bathroom located just down the hallway. Very private as our bedroom is upstairs and do not use the hallway bathroom.
Our guests are welcome to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and head on their way, or gather their own eggs (in our chicken coup) and make a country breakfast before they get on the road. The back deck is the perfect way to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or the front deck to watch the sunset.
Neighborhood is very quiet. You cannot see another house where ever you look.
Car is the most common type of travel, but bring your bike as there are plenty of off road and street riding available.
Omg ... they treated us like family! We will miss them including Marley and Rico(wag). The stay included a farm tour, local history, family and a dog walk! Accommodations was a large room and a connected bathroom in the main house, which had warm county feel.
Great last-minute visit, they were very welcoming! Loved the area and my little dog enjoyed the fresh air. The fresh chicken egg in the morning was the best!
Mark, Jeri and Marley & Rico (the pups) were probably the best hosts we've had in all our Airbnb travels. They were responsive and accommodated us even though we only gave them about 20 mins heads up. The room was perfect. The bed was too comfortable. But most importantly, they were just warm, inviting and unintrusive hosts who were there when we needed them but gave us space too. They were also great with our dog, who was quickly comfortable with them and their dogs. A+. We'd go back anytime, and hopefully will.
We had a great time staying with Mark and Jeri. Mark and Jeri's home is a lovely energetic place with two friendly doggies. We brought our dog as well and Jeri was so great with introducing all the dogs so they were comfortable with each other. Mark and Jeri are very outgoing and friendly and will welcome with a glass of wine, homemade jalapeño jam and conversation, thoughtful suggestions for places to eat and wineries to visit. The location is absolutely fabulous, 10 mins to Healdsburg square and tons of wineries ultra close. The bedroom is set up very nicely, immaculate, and with thoughtful touches and toiletry essentials if you forgot something.
