My wife and I stayed at Sylvain's apartment on the 21st till 25th may 2014. As what the others posted before me is all true. We were greeted right at the ally right where our cab stopped. He help us with our luggage and brief us about Paris. He even got a map for us. I would recommend those who want to visit paris to stay here. It's easy to find a halal food place for us Muslims. Thanks Sylvain for the wonderful experience.

We stayed at Sylvain's flat over Christmas, and had a great time!
The flat is less than a minute's walk from the nearest metro station. It is also within walking distance to all of the famous landmarks and museums (provided you've got comfortable shoes).
The adjacent street has several small supermarkets and hole-in-the-wall diners. We found this very nice when we eventually tired of eating out or found ourselves withuout dinner reservations.
We stayed for about a week, so having a washer/dryer in the apartment allowed us to pack light.
Sylvain was waiting at the bus stop to meet us upon our arrival. He helped carry our bags, and welcomed us with a bottle of wine. He was out of town when we checked out, but a friend of his helped us with our bags again, and made sure that we managed to navigate the metro back to the train station.
As others have noted, the loft with the bed is about 4.5 feet high. Unique, but we were perfectly comfortable.
It's a comfortable, spacious flat with all the comforts of home in the middle of Paris. What else would you ask for?
We had a great time at Sylvain's apartment. It's in an area that's close to restaurants and shopping, and the very close metro stop has two lines running through it. So it was pretty easy to get anywhere in Paris. There's a couple of grocery stores on the street (yay Monoprix) so we didn't have to eat out all the time either. The slight downside to being close to everything is the outside noise at night, but it didn't really bother us. The loft where the bed is is not full height, but again that wasn't a huge deal. Sylvain quickly responded to emails, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Sylvain was an excellent communicator. He was so quick to to respond to my questions prior to our stay and went above and beyond - even meeting us at the train station from our Amsterdam arrival, helping us get to his apartment and talking/showing us around the neighborhood prior to leaving us for 5 days. I could tell that he had gotten the apartment cleaned, which was appreciated. The location is fabulous, a block from the metro, making is so easy to get all over Paris and only a quick walk from some of the best sites the city has to offer. One of the reasons we rented this spot was to have a washer/dryer since we were jumping all over Europe for 3 weeks. I wish there had been directions in English left for our use, though he did walk us through how to use it, it was tough to remember...the washer (which was a dryer also) ended up staining some of our clothes unfortunately and we later discovered it was on its last leg and died after our visit :( We feel bad about that, but it was disappointing not to be able to do laundry we needed to. I'm sure he'll get it replaced, but worth noting. I'm sure this is also why the towels didn't smell very clean. The toilet is in a different room than the shower/sink, which was a bit awkward if you aren't used to it, but not a big deal. The plumbing was very loud too, which freaked us out until we discovered this is rather common all over Europe! The gelato downstairs was amazing and recommended by Sylvain - tons of great food in the area. As for the loft area, just make sure you are aware that the ceiling is really short. I'm 5'2" and had to duck to get in and out of the room just so you have an idea. We refilled the water in the humidifier and it worked great and was a god-send when I came down with bronchitis while staying in Paris! Overall, I can't say enough nice things about Sylvain, who is an absolutely wonderful person and did everything he could to provide a comfortable stay for us. The apartment was in a great 'hood and looks as pictured and the integrated sound system was very cool, internet/tv worked perfectly, large windows were awesome in the a.m and to listen to the bustle of the city at night. Once closed, the apt was very quiet and easy to sleep in - check in/out were super easy. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Montmartre! Thank you again Sylvain!
Groovy apartment. Most comfortable bed in Europe.
Sylvain was very helpful. He and his mate even carried our bags from the bus stop to the apartment. Clean and value for money.
Hey, if you were lucky enough to have found Sylvain’s studio and are reading this, just stop searching any further! This is THE place in Paris. That’s it… No more is necessary to say. The perfect host with the perfect studio. Just grab it before someone else got it before you!
We loved our stay at Sylvain's apartment! Sylvain was such an excellent host, as soon as we arrived, he put us completely at ease (it was our first time using the Air B n B experience) and Sylvain was like a lovely friend whose flat we were coming to stay at :) The apartment itself was extremely well-equiped and very warm, cosy and with interesting artefacts and curiosities from around the world. It has been designed with great flair and imagination :). The location of the apartment itself is absolutely perfect. There are buses that you can catch within a minute of walking outside, the Metro, Grand Boulevard has 2 lines and is 1 minute away. It's so easy to get around Paris from the apartment and we would highly recommend getting a Bus Map from a Metro station as it's a fantastic way to see Paris (and very easy to navigate too). At night and each and every night, my husband and I slept like babies as the bed is extremely comfortable, and the design of the sleeping arrangement is almost like being cocooned in a womb :) so we were always energised for the next day ahead! Thank you Sylvain for making us so comfortable and happy! You were very kind to us! Best wishes Asma and Alex
Sylvain is a very friendly host and the location of the flat is superbe. He picked me up at the metro and showed me around. The flat has everything necessary. Like I said, the flat is really good located which causes of course a bit noise at nighttime. Nevertheless I had a really enjoyable stay.
