This is the large room of the 2 rooms in my "Sunny Second Floor" listing. In a quiet, leafy, safe neighborhood, close to all Cleveland's wonders.
With a queen bed and double futon/bed, it easily sleeps 3. Lots of light and air.
Hardwood floors, free wi-fi and cable TV make the room perfect for a family.
We're close to the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital, Case Western Reserve, John Carroll University, Ursuline College and Notre Dame College. Starbucks, Whole Foods, loads of retail, and restaurants and pubs are within walking distance.
We're also walking distance to churches, temples, and synagogues. The RTA (www.riderta,com) is the public transportation system, and it's convenient and nearby.
Cleveland is a great place for 'foodies' and fabulous gourmet spots are only a short drive away. The amazing Cleveland Museum of Art is also an easy bus ride or short drive-and it's FREE.
You won't want to miss any of the great other arts and entertainment opportunities offered in Cleveland, and I'll be happy to make recommendations and give you directions.
Feel free to use the kitchen, dining room and/or breakfast nook, or to soak in the hot tub. You'll share the shower in the first floor bathroom with me and my room mate, and the upstairs half bath with a guest across the hall (if there happens to be someone renting while you're here)
Interaction with Guests
I love meeting new people and conversing with my guests, and I am also happy to leave you to your own devices if you prefer. I'll have a hearty whole grain bread, bagels, eggs, milk, soy milk, coffee, tea, and juice for you to help yourself to for breakfast.(mainly for shorter stays) And you'll always be invited to join me if I happen to be cooking a meal while you're around.
My neighborhood is diverse, quiet, friendly, and safe. I love that I know all my neighbors and that we have a community garden where we will often chat while we're pulling weeds, planting or whatever. All the kids know me as "Miss Colleen," they'll yell hello as I'm walking by, or come over to offer help with a chore.
The RTA is actually quite user-friendly, convenient and easy to figure out. Here's their web address: (website hidden)
I had a wonderful time during my 3 month stay with Colleen and Jim. They were both such kind and friendly hosts, making sure I had everything I needed. The house was just as described and stayed warm and cozy even during the chilly winter months in Cleveland!
I stayed with Colleen for almost 3 months during a rotation at University Hospitals. The location was very convenient and right in the middle of my 4 work locations and the neighbourhood is quiet with lots of stores close by. Colleen, Jim and Jim's mom are all very laid back and generous people, and the three fellow roommates I encountered during my stay were great as well. Of their two dogs, one is very calm and tranquil while the other is more playful. There is only one shower in the house and one single-file driveway, but with the right communication things can stay pretty coordinated. Overall I was fairly comfortable and enjoyed my stay.
Great accommodations; charming house and lovely backyard garden. Room as described, even bigger than expected, and in a cute neighborhood. Close to many eateries, and easy to get to downtown Cleveland. Colleen was very hospitable, friendly, and warm. We felt very welcome, very comfortable. Our first experience with airbnb was a success! We loved Roxy, the dog, too!
I stayed in the large upstairs room. I enjoyed the large space as well as the privacy it offered to me. I also enjoyed the company of Colline and Jim and other guests that stayed during my tenure. Colline and Jim are both very nice and helpful people, as well as very genouroues with small favor like rides to the airport, etc. I would highly recommend anyone to Colline's home. GREAT host!
Even though it was only a night, my girlfriend and I had a very wonderful stay at Colleen's place. She is an excellent host and I'm glad that we got to spend a little time with her and her boyfriend, Jim. They are fun people! The room is comfortable and it was very easy to get sleep in the quiet neighborhood. Not surprisingly, the hot tub did wonders after a long day in the city and I'll admit that we did get lucky with a brisk summer evening (and fantastic overall weather during the stay). Hope to be able to stay again in the future!
Colleen was friendly and flexible with our arrival time. The bed was very comfortable (and I am 6 months pregnant, so that was important! ). The room was clean and the location is close to Whole Foods, where we were able to get provisions for our long drive to Raleigh.
Although my stay with Colleen was very brief, it was enjoyable. The accommodations more than suited my needs and Colleen was delightfully easy to speak to, making my stay all the more comforting. I look forward to my next engagements in Cleveland and will certainly keep Colleen in mind.

Yoga teacher, dance instructor and drug abuse prevention specialist, I'm friendly, compassionate, and considerate. I love meeting a wide variety of people and learning new things. My home is generally a quiet, serene environment that nourishes and rejuvenates me.
I also work at Starbucks part time, so freshly brewed dark roasted coffee is one of the perks of staying with me. I can't live without love, chocolate, good books, a project to be working on, or seafood.
As a host, I love to hang out and converse with my guests if I'm not working. And I'm happy to leave you to your own devices if that's what you prefer. Breakfast is self-serve: I'll have bagels, cream cheese, eggs, juice, fruit, milk and coffee and tea in the kitchen that you are welcome to enjoy, and if I'm cooking in the evening, you'll always be invited to join me. I love Cleveland, and enjoy introducing guests to some of its wonders-either through a driving tour or a personalized map of attractions they may enjoy.
I live by the platinum rule- 'treat others the way THEY want to be treated.' Live and let live. Be kind. Happy travels!
