This is an historic place with lots of character and requires some upkeep that could be improved. It is definitely a large space and will fit a large party, as mentioned on website families and gatherings. However, it is not a good place for children and do not recommend for any family with children under the age of 12.

Response from Jacque:
This property is kept immaculate. . We have professionals who clean it. It is a historic property and is very popular. Check all the other reviews. We welcome children and have had many children here with great success. The problem with this family is that they did not keep their children under control. A stipulation of the rental agreement was the there was to be "no running in the barn at any time". Yet, the children were running and stomping all the time, as early as 7:30 AM. Also, the children, who were very young, were to be under adult supervision at all times, inside & outside. They were not. The statement:"requires some upkeep that could be improved" is an outright lie. These people never complained about anything when they were here and they never called AirBnB about any problem whatsoever.....they just did not like us calling them on the bad behavior of their children when they knew the stipulation of the rental agreement. This is a beautiful property, filled with antiques. Well behaved children are always welcome......

The Barn was beyond expectations! Guests were in awe of the beautiful space. Jacque and her assistant were lovely and made us welcome, going out of the way to make sure we had a good stay over our wedding weekend and accommodated us having a gathering there then night before the wedding. The only issue was difficulty contacting them by phone the week before check-in, which caused a bit of stress, but we connected eventually and everything went very well from that point on.

Response from Jacque:
Thanks so much for the kind words. We are so happy you had a great btime at your special day. This is a converted barn and in some of the rooms it takes longer for the hot water to travel. Not unusual for this barn. We will look at the flushing toilet and make sure it isworking properly. We always make sure that we make contact, even if it seems a bit late to the guests but we know when you are checking in and we can assure guests that we will be in contact..

What a lovely stay! The place was beautiful and much larger than anticipated--we didn't even use two of the bedrooms. The private baths were a nice touch and the kitchen was well provisioned. The decor and antiques gave the place great character. The pool was a great place to spend a sunny Saturday! Thank you Jackie! I would highly recommend the barn; it's perfect for a group getaway.

Brought a large family in for a reunion weekend....we had a great time. Even with a heavy afternoon downpour, the accomodations worked out perfectly for us. Jackie (who took care of the facilities for the owner, Jackie) was a thoughtful and helpful presence. We talked about returning another time. Thank you!

I hosted a weekend getaway for my wife's 50th birthday at this beautiful property. Jackie and staff have meticulously maintained this historic barn and it is loaded with antiques and wonderful artwork. Our group of 12 spent the weekend touring Buck's county before retiring to the barn to relax by the fire. Thanks for a memorable weekend!

Response from Jacque:
Thanks so much for the kind words. We work hard to make it a great place to rent for family and friends gatherings. It makes it all worth it when folks have such a good time. It is the perfect place for horses but with my not being there all the time it is not possible until we can find someone who would want to rent the stable. Thanks again for the kind words and we look forward to having you back again........

This was a good house for a large group of people. It's nicely renovated and was very comfortable for our party. Be aware that the instruction booklet you are given upon arrival has some different instructions than those on the AirBnB listing. We were charged an extra $100 cleaning fee because we followed directions in the booklet rather than those on the website.

Response from Jacque:
Unfortunately, Jilliam was not there at check in when my assistant went over all the instructions. There are instructions on the website and in the booklet. But the important thing is that the assistant takes the person checking in on a tour and goes over everything. Apparently, the person checking in did not inform Jillian of what was said and what had to be done. So, becasue of this we had exta cleaning and trash removal for which we had to charge extra. We have never had to do this with anyone else as it was clear what had to be one when the guests are leaving.

I have been in the hospitality business for a long time , having run a top notch B & B in Bucks County, Pa. for almost 15 years. Now I am in San Miguel de Allende where I reside most of the year and have purchased three beautiful casitas (apartments) . I am also an accomplished oil painter and have a gallery here in San miguel de Allende. I can guarantee guests that they will have a great stay in a very beautiful place and absolutely enjoy themselves in the magical town. The casitas are in a great location, close to the Jardin in the Histopric Centro.
