The Space

Why would anyone stay in the suburbs? It's quiet, safe, the room is larger, the kitchen well equipped, the ethnic restaurants more reasonably priced.
Single family home circa 1928, 2 story, classic side entrance, New Eng;and colonial. Kitchen, full bath, outside seating area in garden, broadband, large bedroom (second floor) can accommodate up to 2 people, parking for 1 car. A twin sized futon can be used to accommodate people who require their own beds. The large, opening image is the room for rent. It features: Bright and sunny (3 windows) queen-sized TempurPedic mattress, use of closet and chest of drawers, seating for two.
Ask me about service to and from Logan Airport.
Features of the location: Walk to shopping and restaurants. There is a nature preserve along the Charles river, in my neighborhood. 10 minute walk to subway system: 20 minutes to Long-wood Medical Area and art museums; 30 minutes to Back Bay; 40 minute to Financial District; 55 minutes to Harvard Square (short subway ride to a longer bus ride, 75 minutes to Logan airport. Great location, one can take public transit to NYC! It is a short walk from the house to: Chabad house as well as several churches, shopping, restaurants (Thai, Italian, Irish pub, American, Chinese, East coast Mexican) and canoeing on the Charles River. Great spot to tour New England from...5 minutes to major highways North, South and West.
Host is a graphic designer/artist; very friendly and knowledgeable about the neighborhood and Boston. .
The cat (Trudy) is a small Siamese, very sociable. She has promised to do her best to make you feel at home.

Interaction with Guests

I live in my home so on most occasions I shall be home. I drive to NJ overnight every other weekend, so there may be occasions where I am not available however, my neighbor is available if guests have any questions about the house or the neighborhood.

The Neighborhood

Newton has much to offer…there is a historical society (the Jackson Homestead) as well as an arts center. There is a lovely park with nature trails (Cold Spring Park), as well as 2 canoe rentals on the Charles River. One is located at the end of my street. Also at the end of the street is a community shares farm.
The villages themselves have nice restaurants and crafts shops.

Getting around

Very convenient…10 minute walk to the subway into Boston. Also a 10 minute walk to the #59 bus to Watertown Square; connection to Cambridge, and the Arsenal Mall.

  • Leslie was very responsive to my inquiries and was flexible about arrival time, which was unfortunately a bit late. The room and bathroom were both spotless, as was the rest of the house. Her pleasant nature made me feel comfortable as soon as we met. I would definitely stay in her home again.

  • It was my first time using airbnb and definitely the best choice selecting Leslies' place for my parents vacation. Leslie is such a wonderful, friendly and helpful person. They really enjoyed their time and loved Leslie as such a good host and her cute and lovely cat named Trudy.
Everytime they would come back to the United States and for sure they are going to choose the same lovely hosts, Leslie (and Trudy), thank you so much Leslie!

    Response from Leslie:

Thanks, Mike. I just drove up Needham Street and noticed that something else is being built where the International Bike store used to be. Gasp! My apologies for the mis information. Hope it didn't cause too much consternation!
