Our cabin is located in the woods at the end of a short gravel lane. Getting there is very easy, just 2.8 miles off highway 29. There are a few neighbors along the way, but they keep to themselves. It's a breathtaking picturesque drive to the cabin.
Cell phone service is somewhat spotty.
We do have a land line for emergency use in the cabin.
The town of Lovingston is only 4 miles up the road. There is a little cafe, post office, library, grocery store and several wineries and breweries along the way. Trager Brothers organic coffee is located in the little town as well! Nellysford, not far from Davis Creek, boasts a great restaurant and concert venue/ brew pub, called The Devils Backbone.
There is plenty of parking at the cabin. Enough for three cars close to the cabin, and another 5-10 near the barn. Planning a small rustic barn wedding? Talk to our property Manager! She is an experienced wedding planner!

Davis Creek Cabin is everything that Genny and Stu claim it to be and more, and my wife and I both loved it! Everything, from the giant and very comfortable master bed to the well laid out and cozy downstairs living space, was warm and inviting. There was even a personal note left for us on the chalkboard sign near the door, welcoming us to the cabin. We were blessed with beautiful weather so we had a lot of fun exploring the property, too! The cabin is way off the beaten path and very private, but it's also close enough to all kinds of fun things to do while you're there. I would recommend visiting Pippin Hill Farm Winery and hiking White Rock Falls Trail if you have the time. Bottom line is, we had a wonderful stay and I'll definitely recommend Davis Creek Cabin to everyone I know.
The cabin is beautiful. The setting is amazing. The owners were very helpful and responsive. We will certainly stay again next time we are in the area.
Our second time, with the whole family loving it each time. On the outside, a beautiful location; on the inside, just amazing detail. There has been great care put into the home.
Awesome weekend at this cabin. Pros: Everything from the dining ware, linens, and down to the floors were immaculate. Stoked about all the organic products throughout the house! Owners really were a phone call away which was beneficial.
Cons: I failed to bring my own records, but I did jam to the Foggy Mountain Boys. I didn't have more time to go snowboarding just down the road. I should've brought more friends to share this awesome location with.
My $0.02, pick this spot, or you may as well stay home!
I had originally booked a place at Wintergreen, but the owner called to cancel the day before our scheduled check-in day due to a burst pipe. We saw Genny & Stu's home listed as available for the nights we planned to stay (mid-week, since my husband and I both work weekends) and thought it looked like an even better option than staying at the Wintergreen resort. We weren't going to be skiing for long and the location is close to all kinds of different breweries and vineyards which ended up really being the highlight of our stay. The location is just about a 30 minute drive to the slopes, but "country miles" aren't bad at all, the drive to and from was beautiful. You're surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and there is even a working farm with goats, pigs, sheep and chickens on the way up to the house which was really awesome! We loved stopping by Crozet on our way in from DC, Starr Hill brewery is incredible and if we had time we would have been sure to stop by Crozet pizza. Devils Backbone was great and we caught a beautiful sunset and had a great time at Blue Mountain Brewery too. Retiring back to the house after trekking all around the mountains was wonderful, we could see so many stars, we lit a fire each night and we even cooked a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. The king size bed was really comfortable too. All in all, we headed back to DC calmer, well rested, and in a really great mood after a totally relaxing and fun 3 day/2 night getaway to this really beautiful place!
Thank You Nikki!
What a great review! I'm going to post it to our Facebook page!
We are always so happy when people discover the "magic" of our sweet nest in the woods known as Davis creek Cabin!
And I personally appreciate the mention of the French Press in the things you liked best section of your review, as it was a special touch that I felt was important. :)
You are welcome anytime, and we do hope you'll (website hidden). So sorry about the cold main floor....our HVAC is now working again and next time it will be cozy warm when you walk in.
We had a lovely time in the cabin. We loved the woodstove, the quiet location, the trees that surround the house. Genny and Stu definitely make the place welcoming, from the chalkboard outside the front door greeting our family, to the comfy beds and kitchen pots and pans. Totally recommend.
Me, my girlfriend and some friends stayed at Davis Creek Cabin and really enjoyed it! While the pictures of the cabin on their webpage are great, they do not do the cabin justice. When we arrived at the cabin, the chalkboard outside the house greeted us with a warm message and an even warmer home upon opening the door. The bottom floor of the cabin is simple amazing. It is an open layout of the kitchen, living room, and dining area great for enjoying time together with family and friends. Upstairs is pretty awesome too!
On top of that, the back yard has an great fire pit and chairs for gathering around the fire, just what my friends and I did on New Years Eve.
Simply put... the Davis Creek Cabin is Amazing! I would highly recommend visiting the cabin if you are looking to get off the grid and into nature!
FYI - If internet is a must, my Verizon service worked perfect out there)!
