The views are spectacular and the privacy of the location was just what we were looking for. There is a beautiful pool available for all guests that is just perfect for cooling off on a sunny day. An honor bar is offered near the pool and compliments the casual environment. The villas exude class, with plenty of sleeping options, roomy bathrooms and open tile showers. Everything was provided...including some unexpected welcoming gifts and breakfast food items. Fresh flowers added color to each room. Donna and Darryl gave us helpful recommendations and the information books provided in each villa explained the rest. To get the most out of the beaches and tours, you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle. This B&B offers a high level of service. We give it five stars!

We stayed in Villa Las Rocas Arriba, and it is even more beautiful than the photos. The views are stunning. We were surrounded by nature and the sound of birds and every morning there was a magical view of the sunrise over the ocean. Donna and Daryl could not have been more friendly and hospitable. Their description of their hosting and the experience of staying at Shelter from the Storm is spot on. I will be back!

Very nice hosts and lovely apartments. Stunning views on the ocean. Darryl welcomed us with some nice margaritas, and both him and Donna gave us great advice on activities to do (I recommend visiting the Nauyaca Waterfalls) and restaurants (the Exotica was really good).

Thank you, Giulio. Hope you get to come back again to stay a little longer to see ALL that the Ballena Coast has to offer and for us to spend some time together in the Rancho.

Since we arrived, Daryl received us with a smiled and he helped us to take the things to our rooms. The property is great, the view of the ocean from our room was the best. We stayed on Rocas arriba and our kids in Rocas abajo. Everything was clean and in perfect state, and it seems like if Donna and Daryl have already thought of absolutely everything you could want. They left a basked with fruits and some local products, and a list of beach and restaurant recommendations. The property is on the top of a hill, like most properties on the area, so expect to be climbing up some stairs. It was peacefull and quiet and we were delighted.
