There are 2 pubs and a fish and chip shop in the village and we have our very own cookshop and coffeeshop (website hidden) ON THE FARM! So you can have a proper coffee and buy fantastic cookware in your pj's if you wish ;-)

Other Things to Note
There is a local farm business that deliver food and veg boxes for guests another local company that provide meals if required, both can be arranged directly. We also have babysitters and lots of other extras that guests have requested in the past.
Enjoy our home and all we provide but please treat everything with care and respect. If you have to cancel your stay, please do so as soon as possible as the cottages are our livelihood and not a hobby so we need to rebook cancellations as soon as possible.
Tanya and Dave were really warm and friendly and helpful. The cottage was lovely and the coffee shop very cosy and warm. Tanya gave us a great little route guide for a walk to Ripley which was nice.
On arrival there was a beautiful home based pie on the kitchen table, which was delicious and such a sweet gesture
Tanya, what can I say? Our experience in Cowslip Cottage exceeded all of our expectations! From comfortable beds to a fully equipped kitchen, the cottage was a lovely and warm base for my family to tour Yorkshire. Thank you for lovely brownies and the best apple pie we have ever had, we were very sorry to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
So pleased you had such a lovely time, you were lovely guests. What you didn't mention was that we were not even ready for you when you arrived (as I thought you were coming the day after, as the original booking) and you were so patient while we rushed around to make up all the beds - thankfully we had already cleaned and just had the beds to do! Its never happened before and hopefully won't again, but if it did and everyone was as lovely as your family it wouldn't be so bad!! We would love to welcome you again ;-)
It took us sometime to find your place and we appreciate the assistance given over the phone for directions-I believe we called you at least 4 times for directions and your patience was most appreciated. Further, we had a warm pie waiting for us when we entered your cottage-thank you for for that.
Your home was lovely and comfortable. We as a family, enjoyed our stay and thank you for the same.

We have just had a fabulous stay in Cowslip Cottage. Tanya was quick in replying to all communication and gave a very accurate description of the cottage - perhaps the only thing missed off was how well equiped the kitchen was; we had everything needed to make Yorkshire puddings from scratch for our Yorkshire mini-break! A wonderful trip to a great cottage with fantastic hosts with plenty, both in the cottage (a cupboard full of games) in the beautiful surrounding area, to occupy people of all ages.
Thank you Emma, so lovely to hear you enjoyed your time here, we are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country and of course you must make Yorkshire puddings while you are here! We have just added slow cookers to both cottages as well which should be welcome as it gets colder.
Tanya was a fantastic host providing all the information we required to make our stay hassle free and thoroughly enjoyable. The cottage was exactly as described and exceeded all of our expectations in terms of the facilities provided and home comforts. Our eldest daughter loved seeing the cows out of the window and going to see the chickens.
The location was perfect for our stay and we would love to stay again the next time we are heading to the area.
The farm was exactly how it looks on air bnb. The hosts, Tanya & Dave, were friendly and went out of their way to help and advise us on places to visit and where to eat. The farm and shop were idyllic and just as we had hoped for - a beautiful part of Yorkshire.
The cottage was not far from the bus stop at the end of the lane (on the way out of the farm). There were nice local pubs, a great walking area, and the cottage was based near a range of places to visit. This place is great for families. We would love to return at some time in the near future and would recommend to friends and family. Thanks Tanya & Dave from Sharon and Ian x.
Cowslip Cottage was comfortable and beautifully appointed, with such careful attention to detail. We enjoyed being able to light a wood fire in the evening and the option of a long soak in the bathtub.
Tanya and Dave were the perfect hosts and both very attentive to us as their guests. Tanya even brought us a delicious apple tart! Some of our party also enjoyed a tour of the farm with Dave, and one of us (a keen bird watcher) spotted many different birds on her list in the fields around the farm.
Thanks so much for having us to stay!

Hi, my name is Tanya, I am married to the lovely David. We live on our farm in a village called Killinghall just outside Harrogate with our two lovely dogs and lots of cows! We have two holiday cottages and a campsite on our farm which we call The Cud Life. I have a cookshop called Cooking Fantastic which I have just moved to the farm from the pretty picturesque market town of Knaresborough where it was for 10 years. We love to welcome families and individuals and are happy to show guests around the farm whilst they are here and provide plenty of local information for those who want to explore beautiful North Yorkshire.
