The trip started well with Tanya asking what age our little boy was to make sure she had toys for him - far beyond what we expected! We then had a wonderful weekend at Cowslip Farm Cottage! Everything was spot on. Very comfortable beds, everything we needed was provided and there were some great little touches - scones and milk when we arrived and a tour of the farm. Tanya even created a special sign for our litle boy's room with his name on it, which he loved! Even the bad weather didn't matter as we had a cupboard full of toys and a wii console to keep us amused. A big thank you to Tanya and David for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!
If Carlsberg did holiday cottages this is what they would be like. Wonderful, cosy but very spacious cottage, extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean, genuinely friendly and welcoming hosts in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Tanya has thought of everything to enable a happy, easy and comfortable stay.
A really great place. Well equipped and clean and tidy, with nice personal touches from the hosts. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at Cowslip cottage. Tanya was most helpful and a welcoming letter with homemade scones and jam were waiting for us on our arrival. My son and daughter in law from Brisbane Australia were with us and they were most impressed. We were able to visit Harrogate, Knaresborough and York all being fairly nearby. The cottage had numerous leaflets giving information on places to visit. We loved meeting Tanya and David. They could not have been more welcoming. We loved the log fire and the well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Thank you.
Cowslip Cottage was an ideal weekend getaway for our group of 7. It was cosy, well-equipped and perfectly located: close to Harrogate and easy to get to by car or train. Tanya was a thoughtful host, and always easy to get hold of. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.
Only had time for a short 2 night stay in Cowslip Cottage...wonderful large lounge area for relaxing...quite steep stairs to upstairs bedroom & bathroom, but great views over the farmland with the grazing cows nearby & lovely sunrises...arrived in the dark but luckily Tanya had emailed us detailed directions...friendly welcome from David...welcome basket with biscuits & jam plus fresh milk in the fridge for the first cuppa...wonderful amount of tourist information which made it easy for planning our outings...dropped in at the "Cookshop" at Knaresborough so we could meet Tanya...wonderful location for exploring nearby places & great to come "home" to the peacefulness of the farm at the end of each day.
Great place, on a working farm, but on the edge of the village close to amenities. Tanya is a great host and communicator, we felt very much at home. The accommodation had all we were looking for. Great views across the fields, wonderful sunrise and sunsets with the happy cows milling in the background.
Welcome pack was lovely. Joy wants the recipe for the cookies!
Shame we only had a couple of nights, hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Tanya and Dave were great hosts and we would have loved to have spent more time at their gorgeous cottage. The little things that make it a home away from home do count. If you are considering staying here then just do it. You won't regret a moment of it. We spent our last evening with Tanya and Dave and a few bubbles, and I have a feeling that I will be back in the not too distant future, even if it is just to sample those lovely scones again. Good luck to both of you for your future plans.
We had one of the most amazing weekends away here! The cottage was beautifully presented and Tanya was a pleasure to communicate with. I can only hope I have the opportunity to stay here again, hopefully for longer than a weekend as this was just not enough time!
Tanya's Cowslip Cottage was my first experience of airbnb and what a fantastic experience it was! Everything worked out well. The house has so much character and you can feel the love and care that went into it. I was there for a weekend with my parents and they loved the whole experience as well. In fact, my mother liked it so much that she will adopt some of the same practices over the cottages that she rents back in Brazil, where we are from. There is a quote on the kitchen wall that says" The best of memories, is making them" - We will have very good memories of our weekend there.
