The apartment is in a very good location. Very close to the Rialto bridge and the vaporetto. But as I learned, Venice is to be walked. It is wonderful to get lost in the small streets and alleys of Venice.
The biggest problem with the apartment is the airconditioner. If I had known it was not working properly, I would not have rented the apt. The airconditioner is a portable type and the water in the reservoir needs a drain otherwise once the reservoir is full, the AC stops working. It took around less than two hours before we had to drain the reservoir manually. Additionally this was the only AC in the apt and it was in the kitchen. The living room, and the two bedrooms did not have AC. If it was not summer this could be overlooked but in 80F+ weather, it was extremely hot without the AC for 8 people in the apt. I know we tend to expect less living in a private home instead of a hotel but it is still a good amount of money that is paid so why should we be expecting less especially that airconditiong was specified in the description on airbnb.
The apartment was very nice and clean when we arrived, and the location made for a great experience while in Venice! While it sleeps 8 people, it was at full capacity and only one bathroom. I recommend to future guests to limit it to 4-6 people. Individual beds and closets were nice, as was the kitchen. Our only poor experience was with the air conditioning. Even though Venice has strict air conditioning regulations, the unit in the apartment did not work consistently and made it uncomfortably warm during the nights. We also noticed a slight bug problem, specifically with the Mosquitos coming through the windows in the evenings.
Coordination was scattered: only at 8pm the day before the arrival did we get contact info. The plane landed early, yet the host could not be reached. After a 2 wait we could get into the apartment.
One room was mold invested. The apartment had a disgusting sewage smell. Appliances were broken in a dangerous way. Only one of the beds was acceptable in terms of the mattress.
On the upside: The cleaning staff did a good job. The coordinating staff was nice as well. The location in San Polo is quiet nice.
Overall it appears that the company renting out this apartment does
not care about the actual maintenance of their property.
Worst Airbnb experience for us so far.
The location of the apartment is absolutely perfect. It's really near to the rialto bridge so you'll always find home.
The guide met us on time, brought us to the apartment and explained everything what we needed to know.
A disappointment was that they only left one trash bag, one toilet roll, one tab for the dishwasher for a group of 8 people...
but all in all it was a really good stay at the apartment, would definitely recommend it.
the appartment was at the perfect place, near the rialto, it's perfect to visit the city.
Towels and sheets were clean, but bedclothes not at all. In a general point of view the appartment wasn't very clean.
Everything was just perfect! Thank you! We would definitely stay there again.
