Quiet double room in 3 bed apartment in block with elevator, in the heart of Causeway Bay. Fantastic location. Minutes from the MTR, trams and buses, Time Sq, Stadiums, Victoria Park, Convention Centre, Star Ferry, Aircon throughout, Wifi. Large living area, kitchen, bathroom.
Our double spare room is available as short term accommodation for visitors looking for an affordable place to stay in the expensive city of Kong Kong. Our 1200sf three bedroom apartment is on the 8th floor of an old traditional 1950's built apartment block, with a lift - which is very important if you've heavy luggage on a hot, humid day!
The bedroom has a comfortable, double bed, a double wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is an oil heater, a window air conditioning unit and mini refrigerator. Desk and stool for those of you here on business
Our apartment is secure, with doorman at ground level and two security gates before our front door. We will provide visitors with a set of keys & towels.
Causeway Bay MTR exit F is three minutes walk from our apartment. Times Square is even closer. There are literally hundreds of restaurants within a 500 metre radius. Happy Valley Stadium for horse racing and HKFC soccer 7's is 500 metres away, Hong Kong Stadium for international rugby and the Rugby 7's is a similar distance. The Convention Centre in Wan Chai is one stop away on the MTR or a 5 minute taxi ride.
Causeway Bay is a perfect location for exploring Hong Kong. The tram system traverses the north of the island and a loop passes Happy Valley. Buses and minibuses from Causeway Bay travel to every part of Hong Kong - The Peak, Victoria Harbour for the Star Ferry, Stanley, The New Territories, Kowloon, Shenzhen. The nightlife of Wan Chai can be reached in a 15 minute walk or by a HK$20 taxi, tram or bus!
On an early morning walk through Victoria Park you can watch the locals performing Tai Chi and on a Sunday morning experience the throng of hundreds of Indonesian maids enjoying their day off in the park. A short stroll at midday will take you to the harbour and the noonday gun - take your ear plugs!
Visitors will have access to our living area, shower room and kitchen. We ask visitors not to smoke in the apartment. We have no pets.

We are a British expat family of three and have explored Hong Kong extensively over the past three years and can offer assistance with planning your days and evenings whilst you're with us.
Airbnb keeps moving the location of our apartment to Happy Valley. We don't live in Happy Valley, the apartment is 3 minutes walk from Exit F Causeway Bay MTR, 2 minutes walk to Times Square, 5 minutes walk to Sogo department store. Please see the maps and read my feedback to see what a great location we're in for restaurants, transport, shopping, sports stadiums, Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Access to the apartment is through one of two entrances. The most convenient has 10 or so steps leading up to the lift lobby, the other entrance without steps is handy for those with heavy luggage.
Visitors will have access to our living area, shower room and kitchen. We ask visitors not to smoke in the apartment. We have no pets.
We have a large collection of movies, documentaries, comedy and travel shows. Bring your iPad or smartphone or tablet, install the Sandisk Media Drive app and you can access the collection. Some of the travel & cookery shows on Hong Kong and SE Asia are particularly good to watch whilst you're here. (Rick Stein, The Hairy Bikers, Anthony Bourdain, Luke Nguyen etc.)

From the airport you can take a taxi here for around US$40, or take the fast Airport Express to Hong Kong Station, then take a US$6 taxi here, or the MTR to Causeway Bay. Airport buses are very cheap and take around an hour to get to Causeway Bay.
The Octopus card attached to the keys can be used on the MTR, buses, trams etc. Simply touch the card to the Octopus reader and the fare is debited from the card balance. You can top up the card at the MTR or a 7 Eleven or Circle K store.
We can lend you a cell/mobile phone, or you can buy a Tourist SIM card for your smartphone from the 7 Eleven/Circle K. Ask for a 5 or 8 day pass for HK$69 or HK$118.
Other Things to Note
We have an nine year old son, Alex who loves meeting our new friends from over seas. If you have time to bring him a little souvenir, a baseball cap or comic or even postage stamps from your country, you will have a friend for life!

IMPORTANT. Check in is during daylight hours only. If you want to check in after 7pm please contact me before booking. It's unlikely that we'll accept a booking with a check in after 10pm, particularly on work/school day and reserve the right to cancel such a booking made without prior contact.
This is our home, we live here too, so please be considerate when using the bathroom. Before and after school and work are busy times.
No overnight guests please.
The main bathroom is next to our bedroom, so please don't use the shower after we go to bed.
If it's warm please use the AC, but remember to turn it off when you're out.
Please DO NOT use your own electrical travel adaptors/plugs. Please use those provided in the room. We have extra ones if you need them.

The room was very convenient and with nice view on the street below.
The neighborhood is very central, actually 100 meter walk from the apple store.
Steve was a great host, the location was excellent and it was all very well priced. So many pointers of what to do, and I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. I definitely recommend staying with Steve and his family.
You feel right at home with Steve and his family Alison and Alex - they are really nice people whom i would fully recommend. Very helpful and pleasant, I will go back again and again.
Steve and Alison are one of the most friendliest hosts I've met so far.
Apartment is 2 blocks away from causeway bay subway station. 5-7 min walk to Din Tai Fung dim sum place.
Room is very tidy as described.
Steve provided extremely well direction to his place.
He also helped me set up my itinerary as I was there only for very short time.
He also provides list of places for dinner, drinks and breakfast with names and addresses.
Very happy and highly recommend his and Alison's home.

I'm Steve, live in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong with my wife, Alison and nine year old son, Alex. Originally from the UK, we've been in Hong Kong since January 2011. We love Hong Kong and Asia in general and love to share our experiences with our guests. Food is our other passion, Causeway Bay is the perfect location to try Asian food at reasonable prices. We are gay friendly and happy to welcome visitors from around the world.
