Interaction with Guests
I will be available to answer any questions you may have during your stay. I provide a prepaid cell phone which comes in handy to call tuk-tuks to take you into town as well as to call me, should you have any questions..
The villa is located in a small community of seven homes which share private lake access. I feel very fortunate to have great neighbors from all over the world.
The house is located on the road between Panajachel ('Pana') and Santa Catarina Palopo, 10-15 minute walk from Pana and about a 20 minute walk to the Mayan Kakchiquel village of Santa Catarina Palopo. Public pick-up truck taxis pass by about every 15 minutes and cost Q.2 to Pana and Q.3 to Santa Catarina Palopo (FYI: $1.00 = Q.8.00). Tuk-tuks to Pana cost Q.10 per person. You can use the prepaid cell phone I leave for you to call English-speaking tuk-tuk drivers whose numbers I provide.
Other Things to Note
It would also be my pleasure to arrange a wide variety of activities for you. Here are a few:

- private cook ($25 per meal time, plus the cost of ingredients. Menu provided upon request)
- Private lake tours (prices range from $100 to $175 depending on length of tour)
- Kayaking tours
- Horseback riding tours
- Ground transportation to Antigua, Guatemala City
- No smoking
- Three people maximum occupancy

My wife and I wanted to find a place in Panajachel to spend our honeymoon and we were glad to find this place. The place was exactly as advertised. It was very clean, quiet, and the view from the porch was breathtaking. We would love to return if we have the chance. David was extremely attentive and available to any questions and needs, which made our trip very smooth.
A wonderful little cottage: the location and views are stunning. The cottage is also well equipped and has stylish decor. A great place to relax, although the occasional tour boat on the lake has very loud music blasting out, but this doesn't detract from the great setting. We were met by a friend of David's who took us up to the cottage and settled us in - very smooth. It is an easy (20 mins) to walk into town and you can take a tuk-tuk back and you'll appreciate the location even more after the bustle of the town.
This house was beautiful, peaceful, perfect! It was hard to leave the deck to explore the rest of the lake! Loved how the house was close to pana but not right in the busy town, it was a very quiet neighborhood. Views of the volcanos from every room... Laying in bed, taking a shower with the window open.
Will defiantly return to stay here again in the future!
My wife and I booked David's cottage last minute as most hotels in the area were booked up over Valentines day weekend. David called me personally at the hotel we were checking out of in Pana and made sure everything was all good. Daniel, his business partner, picked us up, took us to the cottage and got us all settled in. He was great!
I can't say enough about how amazing the cottage is. We had the best time just relaxing, cooking in the spacious, well stocked kitchen and hanging out on the balcony overlooking beautiful Lake Atitlan. There is private access to the lake if you want to go swimming, etc. You can walk to the town center in about 20 mins. or tuk tuks take just a few minutes ($10 quetzal). We will definitely be back on our next visit!
Hey Derek! I'm so glad you and your wife had a great stay!! I hope to see you both again soon! Ah..by the way, just a small typo in your review (FYI for any prospective guests) the cost of a tuk tuk to go to the town center is Q.10 (which is about $1.20).
Happy trails... :)
I've traveled 6 of the 7 continents and without a doubt this was one of the best and one of my favorite places I have ever stayed in my life! The pictures do not do it enough justice, the view from the deck is the best view of the entire lake! I searched for days for different options of where to stay in Panajachel, and I'll make it easy for those who are also looking... stay here... simple as that! You will not be disappointed. Loved all the extras (spear fishing, cooking classes, and paragliding too!). Thanks David and Daniel and see you again soon! Cheers, Chris
Our stay in this cottage was excellent! The view is amazing, the cottage is nice and quiet with a lot of privacy. It is easy to reach panajachel either walking or by tuktuk. David was an excellent host. He made sure that we were picked up from the bus when we arrived in panajachel and his friend Daniel who picked us up even went grocery shopping with us. All in all really well organized and a great location! Would definately recommend it!
