This great apartment is located in the midst of Kensignton market--the funkiest neighborhood in the city--in the heart of old downtown Toronto. Kensington Market is an urban multicultural blend of cafes and restaurants, clothing stores, art studios, and specialty food stores. There is live music on the corners all summer and even throughout much of the winter. This is definitely the spot to be for hip, indie, and alternative types.
The house is steps away from two 24 hour major city transit lines, and walking distance to the University of Toronto. We are ideally located for exploring Toronto's main attractions. It is an easy stroll or a quick streetcar ride to the Royal Ontario Museum, the AGO, the harbourfront, the CN tower, King Street Theatres, Queen Street shopping, Roy Thompson Hall etc. We are also located close to the major Hospitals..
The former studio of Longboard Living, this basement level apartment of a funky Victorian house has been recently renovated and features a tiled shower, glossy floors, exposed brick, bright colors, and an eclectic style typical of Kensington Market. It is right in the midst of fresh organic produce and funky clothing stores. Go vegan in the morning, hit China Town for lunch, and head to Little Italy in the evening—all within an easy stroll.
The apartment is fully outfitted with everything you need, sleeps four, and has wireless internet.
At Kensington Suites we want to be as eco-friendly as possible.
Please help us by separating your waste into one of the three separate bins: one for landfill, one for recycling, and one for compostable stuff (table scraps, paper towels, etc).
Also, it would be much appreciated if you could turn down the thermostat when you are out of the apartment to help save on our natural gas usage. We a have a wonderful hot-water radiant heating system in the apartment, so it warms up very quickly as soon as you turn the heat up again.
I am a gypsy scholar currently in the rainforest in Costa Rica studying biodiversity and eco-tourism. When in Toronto I teach at York University. My passions include yoga, rock-climbing, hoola hooping to groovy music, blues, and exploring tropical paradises. I strive to live an ecologically and socially conscious life, to do no harm, and, as hokey as it may sound, to make the world a better and more just place. The apartments at Kensington Suites reflect the eco-conscious and eclectic nature of the funkiest neighbourhood in the city. Welcome.
