Interaction with Guests
Please take note that I'm renting out a private room in a 2-bedroom apartment. So you'll be sharing the living room, bathroom, kitchen and patio with me. I'm away most of the time for work in the city but there may be times that we'll have breakfast together.
A cozy cafe a few blocks from the apartment will be perfect for brunch: Sunrise/Sunset on 351 Evergreen Avenue. If you're willing to walk further and you like a grungy, more hipstery coffee place, try Little Skips (941 Willoughby Ave.)
Gates Avenue station is half a block away from the apartment and it takes 15 minutes to get to lower Manhattan.
It takes about an hour from JFK to get to my place by subway and about 30 mins by taxi.
If you want to take the subway, take the AirTrain to Jamaica Center (get off at Sutphin Blvd) then transfer to the J train to Gates Ave.
Please don't forget to turn off all the lights and the AC/heater unit when you leave.
Please put dirty dishes, glasses and utensils in the dishwasher.
Charisse was a welcoming host with a beautiful and clean apartment. The bed was comfortable for two people and there is so much natural lighting from the skylight (roof window). The Bathroom was clean and the shower head felt like relaxing rain drops. She made us feel at home and was accommodating. Even when we needed to leave our luggage pass check out. Her apartment is near the subway (just one ride to downtown) which was very convenient. She even baked us a banana nut bread :) it was a pleasure staying in her apartment and having her as a host. Thank u again Charisse! Highly recommended ! :D
Charisse was extremely sweet and the apartment is very pretty and comfortable. She made us feel at home.
The skylight bedroom is exactly as described, bright and sunny. Perfect for an early riser like me as light pours in from skylight early in the morning.
She is so sweet with smile. I had a problem with key but neighbor helped a lot.
No lift to go up 3.5 floors and it's so great with modern interior. She must be well organized and keep the house clean. However, the bed sheet was a bit smelly but I would be back next time
Everything was exactly as depicted -- pristinely clean, conveniently located, and Charisse the perfect host. This is an excellent place to stay -- comfortable bed even for the fussiest sleeper -- modern decor and amenities, even a roof top spot to read. Perfect. Thank-you!
The apartment was really nice and the location made it very easy for us to get around the city. Charisse was very welcoming and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay.
