Our Rental is the first floor of this historical duplex in the downtown area of Charleston. The area is the center of the new trendy part of town close to new restaurants, breweries and music venues. The Palmetto brewery has open parties every Friday nights, also look for Edmonds Oast, Park Café, Taco Boy, Moe's Crosstown Tavern, The Royal American, Rutledge Cab Co and The Tattooed Moose.
The home is very large 3 bedroom and is accommodating for a family or 2 to 3 couples to share. It has a wonderful covered front porch, perfect for coffee in the morning or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. The full kitchen and large dinning room allows for you to stay and cook in some of the local seafood, but the culinary scene of Charleston is so great, you have to experience it as much as you can!
You have the first floor apartment all to yourself. We live in a completely separate home above. There is ample parking on the street and a spot behind the house.
Interaction with Guests
We can have as much or as little interaction with guests. We are in the food and wine industry and can help with any kind of restaurant suggestion to help with craft beer tours.
We are in one of the hottest areas of town, new restaurants and nightclubs/ music venues are popping up everyday. Look up Rutledge Cab co restaurant, Moe's crosstown tavern, Park cafe, Lee lees hot kitchen, Royal American, Tattooed Moose ( on Diners, Drive ins and Dives).
Still can easily get to King street and Market street areas of town.
We are in walking distance to a lot of venues. To get to the battery or lower king st by taking a short cab ride ( less than $10 ) or take a free trolley. Parking downtown can be a challenge, but we have a parking spot behind the house and lots of street parking without fear of tickets.

The house was so cute and a perfect fit for our group! It's clean & spacious, and while not quite downtown, it's a super quick cab ride away (or decent walk on a nice day). There are some other restaurants, cafes & bars within quick walking distance as well. The only minor concern was the one bathroom situation (for 5 of us) but it wasn't an issue as the house had plenty of room to get ready. Our lovely hosts were great with answering our questions and provided some excellent dining recommendations. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is located just a short 5-10 minute drive from all the best shopping, restaurants and sight seeing! The house was extremely spacious - with large bedrooms and lots of room for cooking! The bathroom was completely remodeled and spacious as well! But I think our favorite part was the front porch - a great place to have coffee and greet the day.
The house is in a transitional neighborhood but we never felt unsafe. We parked out front on the street and had no issues whatsoever.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Billy and Michele were wonderful hosts, and the house was absolutely perfect. It was very spacious and fit all six of us girls comfortably without feeling like we were on top of each other like a hotel would. The location was perfect and we were able to take cabs for less than $10 each time to get anywhere we needed to go.
Billy and Michele were very easy to communicate with and were greatly accommodating in check-in, check-out times and answering any questions we had.
The house was clean and very cutely decorated, and it provided the perfect background for a girls' birthday weekend celebration. I would hands down stay here again and would easily recommend the house to anyone!
My family and I were in Charleston for a family wedding and I'm so happy we found Michele and Billy's lovely place to call home for a few days. It was more than enough room for 6 of us and is very conveniently located near a beautiful park and a lovely walk to King street shopping. Michele also recommended the Park Cafe - a few block walk from the house - that had the most divine breakfast sandwich any of us had ever had.
The hosts had goodies on hand upon our arrival (which my boys loved) and also provided a basketball for some park play on Saturday.
The layout and decoration of this apartment is very tasteful and comfortable. We all highly recommend this spot for travelers to Charleston - especially families!
A big thanks to Michelle and Billy for making our Charelston stay relaxing and comfortable. They left us a few breakfast items and milk in the house, which was a nice welcome as we arrived Thanksgiving day and all the stores were closed! They were easily reached by phone or email for any questions we had. The house was big, clean and beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and bathroom updated with lots of nice towels. There is a nice porch where my husband and father in-law enjoyed relaxing.
We stayed with a 15 month old and they were helpful suggesting a place to rent a crib and highchair and even made themselves available so it could be dropped off.
They house is close but not exactly walking distance to downtown, but they have parking and we had a car so it wasn't an issue for us.
Our stay at Michele's home last weekend was nice. The first floor home is located on the corner of Huger and Ashley streets at a four way traffic light north of downtown. We were a bit surprised by the location not only because of the busy corner but also because this neighborhood is up and coming, it just has not reached it's potential yet. There are remodeled homes and boarded up homes and everything in between. You definitely will need to drive to historical downtown (could also bike but would not want to after dark). The house next door was also under construction so the noise between traffic and hammering began early. Michele was very accommodating and allowed us to drop off our bags before check in. The home was clean, nicely decorated and bright. I loved the front porch which is furnished with sofa and seats. We could not get the internet to work either which was unfortunate. We needed to park on the road as the upstairs tenant parked in the spot off the street. Michele is easy to reach and very nice and helpful.
We had an amazing stay in Charleston. Michele and Billy were extremely helpful with everyone. They gave us amazing suggestions to restaurants and answered all of our questions quickly. Our only complaint was that the internet did not work very well which was difficult because we were in Charleston for work. We did tell Michele at the end of our stay and she said she would call the cable company right away. Thank you so much. We definitely recommend this place!
