Description

The space

We're in a very central (but quiet and residential) area.

We are situated one mile from Patrick Street, which is the main street in Cork - so approx 15 minutes walk from the city centre.

There is disc parking available in this area (2 euro disc for 2 hours parking), during business hours - Parking is free at evenings and on Sundays (and bank holidays).

Our home is very convenient to everything and Cork is a great base for further exploring.

We're fifteen minutes drive from Cork Airport, fifteen minutes drive from the train station and about ten minutes drive from the bus station.

We have two spare double bedrooms and a single bedroom available.

Neither myself nor my husband smoke.
This is a non-smoking house.

We do have a dog - very cute and well behaved rough collie (she's 10).

Guest access

Communal areas:
Sitting room, with a tv and hdmi cable.
Wifi through the house.
Shared family bathroom - There is a shower but no bath.
Kitchen: We don't provide breakfast, but please feel free to help yourself to cereal and tea and coffee, in the kitchen.

Interaction with guests

We're always happy to have a cup of tea and a chat :)

Lefre, Eamonn, and Bubbles were the best hosts! Their home was comfortable, clean, and inviting. They give you as little or as much space as you want. Always there for a chat! I would definitely stay here again and highly reccommend it!

Lefre and her husband were amazing hosts! The conversation and the company alone were well worth the trip. On business trips, especially, I tend to be pretty focused on work and don't get the chance (as much as I would like) to interact with locals and hosts. I came in late most nights, woke up early, and was in and out quickly. Which is why I was so presently surprised when lefre and her husband (and even the adorable house pup bubbles) went out of their way to find and make time to talk, hang out and share a glass of wine or tea. They even got roped into helping me practice for a presentation I was doing... so they went WAY above and beyond duties of hosting. They are super active in their local community and in the air bnb community, so they really have great insights into the town and the culture, and several charming about cork and the world beyond. The house is in a quiet residential part of Cork. Sort of off the main roadways. Within walking distance to sights and college, 20-30 minutes. The room is no frills value accommodation in a well loved but cared for house: think clean and nice hostel with way better towels and a WAY better shower. The little desk was such a great perk as it gave me a space to work and get ready in the morning. Would be great for solo traveler trying to keep financial output in check. Absoleutly loved my stay. One of the best bnb experiences, 15 mins walk from city centre, quiet in residential area, lovely couple host Lefre and Eamonn with a shy Collies Bubble, Lefre allowed me to check in earlier and check out later which is a mercy to me, Lefre even made me a warm welcome tea and offered a details guide on what to do Cork, room is comfort and cosy, you get access to kitchen and living room, able use the washing machine, it's a family friendly stay and worth every penny. With a host who love to meet traveler a lot, pretty sure I'll be stay with Lefre and Eamonn in next Cork visit.

I live with my husband and our dog (a rough collie, who looks like Lassie) in a house one mile from the main street in Cork City Centre. We're easy going and friendly, outgoing people. I'm a lawyer and my husband is a statistician. We love travel and have done a huge amount of it together, in all kinds of off-beat destinations. We're big fans of alternative comedy (George Carlin, Stewart Lee, Billy Connolly, Bill Maher). We love good food (Cork is great for this - it's a real gourmet capital with lots of artisan producers), like going for a drink, hanging out with friends and playing cards. I love music and have recently bought myself a guitar - I played music years ago, as a kid. I'm taking some lessons and it's my ambition for this year to learn how to play it properly:)
