The Space

Come stay at my Napa Valley "Heavenly Retreat"! It's beautiful all year round in the Napa Valley with wineries pouring their fabulous offerings
The warm weather makes it perfect to tour and taste with my local (optional) seasoned tour guide/driver. and then return home to relax and swim (April - November) in this serene, very private backyard garden with pool (and propane heaters at night) listening to birds singing, tree toads croaking, sipping wine and cheese while looking out on a view to a private vineyard. Or wake up to hot air balloons floating down valley while having your morning coffee/breakfast. It's a wonderful way to start the new day!
This bright and airy home with it's high ceilings is filled with light and is a perfect couples weekend (or weekday!) getaway destination to relax and enjoy winery touring, soaking in the Calistoga warm mineral pools, visiting museums (Hess Collection and numerous galleries), Oxbow Market, concerts, NV Opera house or partaking a decadent meal at one of Napa's remarkable restaurants (Tra Vigne, Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Bottega, French Laundry, Bouchon, Ad hoc, Don Giovanni, Bistro Jeanty, Fish Story, Morimotos, etc).
Get a good night's rest in your very private guest room in the ample king-sized bed with high thread count Egyptian cotton linens, and a silk down comforter. Enjoy your private ensuite bathroom and wrap yourself in luxurious towels after a 'couples' shower. Your bedroom has cable TV, a docking station for your IPOD, and you can always access high speed WiFi . Possibility of renting the extra queen (open loft) suite with balcony and chairs overlooking the vineyard if you have another couple that wants to stay. The second couple (your friends) will be charged only $135 per night. You will need to share the one bathroom. (And no, I will never rent the loft to someone you don't know at the same time you are staying in the luxury guest suite.) And yes......wine and appetizers will be waiting for you when you arrive (as will my adorable and loving Akita therapy dog --- Kody!)

So, hit the 'book it' button and experience Napa Valley as you should and as the sign says in the guest room : "...and they all lived happily ever after".

  • We stayed 4 days at Judith and Kodiak`s very nice spot in Napa. She deserve all the good comments she has received and you are all safe staying at here place. She has a beautiful backyard and the best dog ever! :)

Thanks a lot, Judith, for your patience and help in finding good vineyards!

    Have a lovely week!

    Best regards,

  • what an amazing stay! 1) Kodi is our new best friend and we already miss him. 2) the place was roomy, relaxed and felt like home. 3) our host judith was warm, kind and welcomed us with open arms. I expect we'll be back again soon to visit our new friends.

  • Judith's home is extremely clean and well-stocked. Kodiak is as friendly as everyone says he is. Judith was very accommodating of our odd schedule and I would definitely stay here again.

  • We stayed at Judith's place for 2 nights over the weekend with my parents. Judith's house is wonderful and her dog is lovely. We didn't see her much, because we spent most of our day at the vineyards of Napa valley. Thanks to Judith we only visited the best places. She had awesome recommendations for us. Making your own breakfast is a piece of cake in her well equipped kitchen.
I definitely recommend her Airbnb place and will stay there again.

  • Judith is a wonderful host. She event put See's chocolate on the pillows. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to visit with her on our trip. Also her dog, Kodiak, is amazing!

  • Went to napa to spend the long weekend and staying at Judith's made it happen. Her house is beautiful and Judith was accommodating to all our needs! 5 stars airbnb!

    February 2014
  • We had a terrific weekend in Napa and staying with Judith was a wonderful experience.
The Hostess: Judith was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the local restaurants and events. She spend just enough time for conversation then leave you to enjoy some quiet time and to feel at home in her place.
The House: The house was beautiful and clean. The bedroom and bathroom we had was spacious, clean and have everything we needed. I just wish the weather was warmer so that we can use the pool.
The Dog: We knew about the dog but didn't know it would be a BIG dog, but we absolutely felt in love with Cody. He is very behave and we wanted to take him home with us.

We feel like we not only have found a nice place to stay the next time we visit Napa, we also found two new friends - Judith and Cody.

  • We arrived a bit early but Judith was great, meeting us and letting us get settled in before lunch. The location is perfect - a quiet street just north of downtown Napa and just south of the vineyards. Would stay there again

    November 2012
  • My friends stayed with Judith at her house while I was hosted elsewhere-- one of them was in the sleeping loft and one in the separate downstairs bedroom (the loft is for someone who doesn't mind light and openness to the downstairs-- though the bed can't be seen from the living room, its loft area is open to the common area-- but whoever is up there benefits from access to its private balcony; whereas the guest room is darker, if someone care about that-- and more separable from the rest of the house, and though it doesn't have direct balcony or patio access, it does, unlike the loft, have direct same-floor access to a bathroom). Judith was the most generous of hostesses-- even permitting us to host a dinner party in the kitchen-- really incredible goodwill, that. She's tolerant, relaxed, endowed with a bold sense of humor and adventurous calm-- as well as an extremely friendly dog who can open doors! We have it on film! All in all very festive. We counted ourselves lucky.

  • We spent 2 nights in Napa at Judith's house (4 total guests). Exactly as advertised: spacious, comfortable beds, seating out back with nice view of vineyards, heated pool (did not use). Plenty of parking available in the neighborhood and easy access to wineries.

All communication (via email + text) was very responsive. While Judith was away during our stay, her friend Karen hosted us. She met us early to let us in and show us around the house. I thought it was a nice touch to let us help ourselves to the food/drink -- unexpected but really made it feel like a home away from home.

We really enjoyed the pets (large dog and 2 cats)...but this may not be for all guests.

Highly recommend!! Only wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights.

About
I'm a transplanted New Yorker who adores the beauty and serenity of Napa Valley. I arrived here "kicking and screaming" in 1993. It took me about 15 minutes to realize that I had died and gone to heaven. I've never looked back. I'm an avid hiker and love to wine taste. I know the valley quite well and would love to help you set about getting the most from your visit here
