Come stay at my Napa Valley "Heavenly Retreat"! It's beautiful all year round in the Napa Valley with wineries pouring their fabulous offerings
The warm weather makes it perfect to tour and taste with my local (optional) seasoned tour guide/driver. and then return home to relax and swim (April - November) in this serene, very private backyard garden with pool (and propane heaters at night) listening to birds singing, tree toads croaking, sipping wine and cheese while looking out on a view to a private vineyard. Or wake up to hot air balloons floating down valley while having your morning coffee/breakfast. It's a wonderful way to start the new day!
This bright and airy home with it's high ceilings is filled with light and is a perfect couples weekend (or weekday!) getaway destination to relax and enjoy winery touring, soaking in the Calistoga warm mineral pools, visiting museums (Hess Collection and numerous galleries), Oxbow Market, concerts, NV Opera house or partaking a decadent meal at one of Napa's remarkable restaurants (Tra Vigne, Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, Bottega, French Laundry, Bouchon, Ad hoc, Don Giovanni, Bistro Jeanty, Fish Story, Morimotos, etc).
Get a good night's rest in your very private guest room in the ample king-sized bed with high thread count Egyptian cotton linens, and a silk down comforter. Enjoy your private ensuite bathroom and wrap yourself in luxurious towels after a 'couples' shower. Your bedroom has cable TV, a docking station for your IPOD, and you can always access high speed WiFi . Possibility of renting the extra queen (open loft) suite with balcony and chairs overlooking the vineyard if you have another couple that wants to stay. The second couple (your friends) will be charged only $135 per night. You will need to share the one bathroom. (And no, I will never rent the loft to someone you don't know at the same time you are staying in the luxury guest suite.) (as will my adorable and loving Akita therapy dog --- Kody!)
So, hit the 'book it' button and experience Napa Valley as you should and as the sign says in the guest room : "...and they all lived happily ever after".
No smoking please.
Please be respectful of neighbors with noise after 10pm
Please squeegee the shower door when you are finished taking a shower
Judith was an amazing host and we adored Kodak, star and moon. They are all very sweet and Judith was so kind and helpful for the entire time of our stay at her place. Especially her recommendations for wineries were fantastic. We discovered our favorite wineries from her. She really knows the best of Napa. Of course her place was beautiful and very clean. The king size bed and private bathroom were all very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Judith and her dog Kodiak made us feel incredibly welcome. We were greeted at the door by Kodiak who has the face and heart of a teddy bear and Judith who kindly opened a bottle of wine to toast our arrival in Napa. The house was clean, the pool was heated, and the bed was perfectly comfortable. I could not have asked for more. Judith even provided us with tasty snacks and breakfast. The house was located in Napa, conveniently close to all the vineyards and restaurants by car.
Judith (and Kodiak) were wonderful hosts; warm, welcoming and we felt like we were staying with family. The house is beautiful, in a quiet neighbourhood less than 10 mins from the Silverado Trail and great restaurants, and her gorgeous gardens overlook a vineyard. The house is exactly as described and Judith is very flexible with her guests (and even kindly offered to drive us into town one evening). If we return to Napa on our travels we will definitely look Kodiak up again.
Our host was welcoming and very friendly. Kodiak has a great location minutes from downtown. The bed and bath were excellent, although I would recommend bringing earplugs. It was quite noisy during the night.
This was my second airbnb experience. My first time a few years back I rented out an apartment for just me and my friend, so when I learned this time around the host would be there while me and my girlfriend were there, I was a little skeptical. Judith, however, was truly amazing! As the many other reviews state, she loves to be a hostess.
Our guest room was beautiful and cozy, exactly what you would imagine a B&B to look and feel like. The bed was SUPER comfy that my girlfriend and I slept for almost 12 hours one night. The bathroom was great with stocked great bath products and a heated toilet seat, it has ruined normal toilets for me for life!
Her animals, Kodiak, Star, and Moon are all so sweet. They are so well behaved you do not even notice they are there, but love to receive love if you want to give it to them. I love animals, so I loved those little guys.
Judith's home was located in the heart of Napa Valley. She is a quick 5-10 minutes to downtown and we never drove more than 20-25 mins to any of the wineries, even the ones located in Yountville, St. Helena, or Calistoga. She had great recommendations for restaurants and wineries.
If you are going to Napa and need a place to stay, look no further! Thanks again Judith for your amazing hospitality!
After reading the many positive reviews of 'Kodiak's' lovely getaway, we were pretty sure to find something special. And we did! Judith (and Kodi) welcomed us warmly and we instantly felt at home. It didn't hurt that our arrival coincided with 'wine time' (think 'happy hour' without the crazies at the local bar!). Add in some new friends, easy conversation, and a Giants victory...we were pretty much set!
Located in a very quiet upscale neighborhood, the guest room is right off the foyer, making our comings and goings easy for everyone. A large and comfortable bed, great shower, and, yes...a heated toilet seat...we had everything we needed.
Kodiak, our co-host, is a very friendly and lovable Akita. With his size, it's hard to imagine not noticing him...but he's just a big sweetie and is happy to be your bud if that's what you want. If not...he's cool with that, too. Same with Sun and Moon...the house cats.
Judith thinks of everything you might want, from solid restaurant recommendations to quality bath products. She obviously enjoys being a hostess and it shows. And she's got some great stories to boot!
We'll certainly look forward to returning to Judith and Kodi's place when we need to restock the Napa wine inventory. Thanks for making our first AirBnB experience a wonderful one!
Our stay was great. The host was very accommodating, as were her pets. The house is ideal for a small group, and the pool in the back makes for a great way to end the day. It's not in the busy / touristy part of Napa Valley, so be prepared to drive about 10 minutes to wineries and downtown. It's great if you love pets, as you'll share the house with Kodiak (the most friendly Akita you'll ever meet) and two cats. But the animals may not be for everyone.

I'm a transplanted New Yorker who adores the beauty and serenity of Napa Valley. I arrived here "kicking and screaming" in 1993. It took me about 15 minutes to realize that I had died and gone to heaven. I've never looked back.
I'm an avid hiker and love to wine taste.
I know the valley quite well and would love to help you set about getting the most from your visit here
