Interaction with Guests

Interact with my housemate and I as much or little as you like. We are both friendly and happy to chat or give you some insider tips on Santa Barbara, but your space is entirely yours. There is only one entrance to your unit and you are holding the key.

The Neighborhood

Our place is in a gorgeous, quiet, and safe neighborhood in the Santa Barbara Riviera district. It is truly a fantastic central location with very little through traffic, yet just minutes drive or nice walk to downtown State Street (1 mile), premier dining and shopping, the Santa Barbara Bowl (0.9 miles), the Courthouse (0.9 miles) the Mission (0.7 miles), and multiple neighborhood parks (0.5 miles). This is a wonderful area to unwind, take a walk, or enjoy a glass of wine on your patio.

Getting around

We are a short drive or walking distance to many places or you can jump on the bus at our neighborhood stop just three block away.

We will also provide each guest with a $10 Credit for Uber (taxi or town car) assuming you haven't used the service before. Uber to downtown is $7-10, so if there's two of you that's a free round trip ticket. :)

Other Things to Note

Bathroom is stocked with clean towels, hair dryer, and selection of individual shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sewing kit, etc. for your convenience.

  • Would not recommend for anyone over 6 feet tall. I'm 6'4" and I was hunched over the whole time and hit my head once. Other than that, the place is clean and quaint and in a great location.

  • We loved staying in this garden studio! The location was fantastic - we walked to the downtown area as well as the mission, and really enjoyed the neighborhood homes and gardens in the process.

  • This is a great studio in a wonderful neighborhood! (We could see the ocean from our garden bistro table!) It's a safe, quiet area and parking was never a problem. Jonathan was prompt to respond to queries, and gave us excellent advice for spots to celebrate our anniversary. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean (good water pressure), and we watched some funny movies! Only word of caution -- my husband is 6' 3" and had to make sure to avoid the center beam. Good news is that he never hit his head.

  • We only stayed at the flat one night but it was excellent. The wine and water were such a welcome treat upon arrival and the flat is excellently laid out. we slept like babies. Bed was very comfortable.

  • Very cute house & outdoor garden + seating area. Nice neighborhood - close to town - street parking.

Jonathan provided fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine and ear plugs for the very noisy puppy running around upstairs.

  • My boyfriend and I were visiting for the weekend and this was the best place to stay! We were right near State Street and the mission. It was easy to get wherever we needed from the studio. Jonathan was great at communicating about the place and where to visit when in town. The only two reservations I have about the studio is that ceilings are low and the noise level. My boyfriend is 6'4" and had to duck when walking underneath the beams in the room. If you're tall, just make sure you fit! Also, others mentioned the noise level so we were well aware. Jonathan was nice enough to leave ear plugs in case we wanted to use them. Other than that, this is a private, wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to State Street!
