Super paysage et le moulin est charmant. Facilement accessible avec le tram, mais un peu loin à vélo à partir du centre d'Amsterdam.
Even my husband and I only spent a night in the windmill, but it was incredible experience. Knowing that windmill is already almost 300 years old, but the building is still in good condition and comfortable. Unfortunately we could not meet Roel in person, but he has prepared everything. And Johan, his friend who met us by the time we arrived, was very helpful and friendly. We also cannot forget the moment we spend with panther the cat. She was so cool and cute at the same time! :D
tips for Roel, the best transport for us to reach windmill from central station was tram no 7 then transfered to bus no 61. It has less walking. It helps when you have alot things to carry.
This was an absolutely amazing place to stay! I was only here for a night, and unfortunately, I was only able to chat with Roel for a bit in the morning. Too bad, because he was quite enjoyable to talk to. The room was perfectly cozy, and the windmill is both easy to get to, but far enough outside of the city center that it really feels like a different world. Roel also had a delicious breakfast prepared for me when I got up, despite his needing to leave for a trip soon after. He made sure that I was comfortable and everything was taken care of. Definitely an experience I won't forget!
One of the best parts of our trip to Amsterdam was our stay at Roel's windmill. The place as such is about 40 mins by public transport from city center but let that not deter you. The connectivity is good. Its just a lifetime experience. Roel himself is a charming and pleasant person. Was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. Great place, Great stay. Go for it.
Roel's windmill was a great experience. Unfortunately we did not meet Roel but he provided instructions on how to get in with no issues. His home is cosy, spotless and a lovely breakfast was set up for us in advance. It also had easy access to the airport which was a bonus. Loved it!
Great stay, great host, would highly recommend the windmill as a location to relax with the option of Amsterdam as just a tram ride away!
