The Space

If you love to try out new things, I think this is for you. My place is unique because you will experience staying in a house in this big village, where relatives will just pop in and say hi and also experience extended families. I might say that this a modern village with electricity and all amenities like toilet are inside the house.

You can check this out b4 you come to Fiji, can check there website (website hidden) is a thirty minute drive from Suva....if you want to go to this Kila Eco Adventure Park, you can book it or we can book it for you
Another attraction is the Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park, it is about 40minutes drive from the village......

As for sites, my village is near Bau Island. This island is where the King of Fiji, Ratu Seru Cakobau is buried. You can also see "bures', these are old thatched house where our ancestors use to live in. As for our village we have an old site, this is where our ancestors use to live, it has not been touched by outsiders, because it is a sacred place for us. I think this site will be very interested to an archaelogist. If you want to touch this site you will have to do a kava ceremony to the elders of the village.

DIRECTIONS:....The name of my village is Cautata Village....I could not get it rite in the map thing....however, if u book your flight to Fiji, u can also book it from Nadi to Nausori Airport, if u can afford it, when u get at Nausori airport, somebody will b waiting for u.....however, if u just wanna get off at Nadi Aiport, if u wanna go by bus, use the bus that goes through the Kings Road n pay to go to Nausori Town, it may take about three to four hours to reach Nausori town.......

ISSUES IN THE VILLAGE: We have water problems, even though we have modern bathroom & Toilet, however the flow of water to the village is really bad.....we have to wake up from 12am to 4am to fill up the water containers for drinking & drums for bathing & wen u wanna bath, fill up a bucket & take it into the bathroom, for toilet, after use fill up a bucket & pour it into the pan......the reason we have water problems coz our village is on top of kind of high hill & water pressure is not that good, this problem has been going on for as long as I can remember, I am now in my late thirties, we have brought up the issue to the government, but nothing has been done.....
OTHER THINGS;- please do note that Fiji is a hot place, so please do bring hats & sunblock for your tour around the village.....we always sit down on the floor to eat, as for the guest we will make special sitting if you do not like sitting on the floor for so long...

Interaction with Guests

I am now at home in the village with my family and my Mum. We will have all the time in the world to interact with the guest. If the guest wanna have privacy we understand and give them the space they need.

The Neighborhood

Fijians are well known for their hospitality. The neighbours might want to invite you to their house to eat or drink, so please do not hesitate or just say VINAKA (this mean thank you in Fijian)

Getting Around

Buses come to the village and taxi too. Bus fare cost $1.50 from Nausori to the Village, but $2.50 from Suva to the village. $15 to hire a cab from Nausori to the village.
