We arrived at the beautiful farm guest apt on March 26 for 7 nights. The property was spectacular very clean inviting organized and extremely comfortable. Albert had provided detailed instructions on how to get to the house and what or where facilities were located. The views from this place were amazing day and night. There was a fully functional out door kitchen in the lanaie. Even if you dont like to cook you will after experiencing the breath taking views. The apartment is comfortable temperature and evening trade winds come in to provide a nice breeze while sleeping. The birds tend to chirp very early morning so if that is an issue bring ear plugs and you will be fine. I enjoyed the sounds of nature as it was relaxing for me. We did meet Albert towards the end of our stay and he was very warm and inviting. The only downside we experienced was the family That came in towards the end of our trip and stayed in the unit above. they stomped around a lot throughout the night and their kids would run around screaming which made it difficult to relax. The guest prior to this family were very quiet and considerate and fortunately for majority of our stay noise was never an issue. Overall we enjoyed our time and wou'd definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for peace and tranquility. Beautiful. Scenery and landscape and a true Hawaiian experience.
This guest apartment was a wonderful place to stay during our trip to the Big Island! Clean, airy, great fixtures (giant tiled shower, plenty of windows, snorkel gear, etc.) I loved that in the bedroom, the entire wall that faced the gorgeous view of the coffee farm, giant mango tree, Kona, and ocean was a screened-in, sliding glass door. Staying up on the side of a volcano in the Kona coffee belt/rainforest was a HUGE plus; cooler than the coastal areas, even more expansive view, pretty bird sounds and tropical flower smells. Great launching point for destinations all over the island!
Great location, view, home! Out of the fray yet just 15 minutes to the beach, shops, and historic sites. Great ocean view by day and twinkling lights of town by night, with a sunset in between.
Awaken daily to wild turkeys gobbling, cardinals singing, roosters crowing, parrots squabbling in the mango trees. Go to sleep at night in the cool breezes that the higher elevation provides. Dine on the lanai or in front of the home theater with surround sound. Bathe in the jetted tub or have your choice of shower heads- rain or wand.
One mile to the south is the artistic town of Holualoa. Be sure to dine at the Holuakoa Cafe and attend their First Friday art walk.
At sea level, try the Fish Trap beach, where you can always get in the water, regardless of the surf. The Old Airport Beach is good, too.
The location is about halfway between the north overlook and south point, and an hour and a half from Hilo, with its great farm market, the Vanilla Farm, and Tropical Hawaiian Botanical Garden.
Albert is a good host, available by email or phone. He provides a nice list of things to see and do and the house is extremely clean. My wife and I spent the entire month of February here, on Hawaii's Big Island and would gladly return.
Albert provided a set of excellent instructions for the Ocean View Coffee Farm that included pictures of the entrance to the driveway etc. it was a well documented renters manual that really help us find and totally enjoy the guest house. Having stayed at a few different places the entertainment systems can be tricky but Albert's instructions made operation of the system easy. The Ocean View Coffee Farm Guest House was outstanding - especially the Lanai and looking down at the harbor over a leisurely breakfast before heading out to explore the island. The Guest House was a quiet peaceful paradise to return to after a long day and proved to be so relaxing that it was hard to leave in the mornings. We really wish we had booked a longer vacation at Albert's place as it was so nice and comfortable. We enjoyed getting our morning walking around the coffee farm looking at the fruit, coffee trees and flowering plants. An extremely nice location to stay and enjoy. Thanks for sharing it with us Albert, very much appreciated. Sincerely Steve & Linda
Wow, what a great stay we had at Albert's place. Extremely comfortable, well furnished, high up above Kona. It took a little while to shop for groceries or to see the sights, but well worth it for the quiet and vista.
